I always do, and sometimes I'm suprised. Especially with Yatzees reviews. The first three people to post automaticly get probation regardless of what they say, and after than it's 50/50 odds. I've seen people that said perfectly reasonable things and probation, and people that said absolutely nothing worthy of discussion and were ignored.
It's because the first 3 people in Yahtzee's reviews reply about 1 minute after the video was posted. It's not physically possible for them to have even watched the whole thing by that time, yet there they are chiming in.

@OP
I always look to see what people got probation for :D

I'm nosey as hell; even though it's irrelevant to me, curiousity always wins - I check pretty much every one I come across.

I almost thought this was going to be a forum game from the title haha! "[Poster above me] put on probation for [clever comment on above post]."

The third thread on this in the last two days...
Really? Seems I have missed two threads about it then... strange.

OT: I mostly look, sometimes even more than once because I keep forgetting I already looked. Sometimes I do it out of curiosity and to help me avoid making the same mistakes, sometimes for teh lulz. But I regularly look at the posts.

I get that, but that's not what confuses me. It's the people afterwards that seem to get banned with a scattergun, hitting some and missing other randomly.

I misread the title as Prohibition! Isn't that hilarious!

Yes, I want to know what they did, then laugh at them, then not do it.

Does anyone else refer to it as being "probed"? I can't be the only one...
That sounds like some sort of weird 'Weekend Activity' with aliens.
Weekend? It's my day job!
One of the few comments on here that actually made me laugh. Well done :)

Can you provide me with some examples??

I can count at least 20 people who were put on probation on my threads, and at least 3 banned people.

So I sure as heck read up on why they get prob'd because itw as the post in question.

All of the time ... but I'm not sure why. Then again I am always jumping to links everywhere .. I guess I just get distracted by underlined text.

I do sometimes, but only for the sake of seeing what is or isn't acceptable as far as conduct. For the most part I've seen that not acting like a prat will generally keep you in good graces, but I do like to check in sometimes to make sure.
Plus sometimes I kinda giggle at the posts.

For a second there, I thought you were gonna complain about being on Probation.

OT: Yep. Its like looking at a pulled over car. I mainly do it so I know what to avoid.

No better way than learning from the mistakes of others.

Guy A robs a store. Guy A gets arrested. Guy B decides it was a good thing he didn't go with Guy A.

Exactly.
Yes, because remember kids, crime doesn't pay. Unless you don't get caught.

yes. cause it's normally something funny or just low content post, so it's either a quick read or a good joke at least.

Okay, from this weeks Super Mario Galaxy 2 review. First page examples.

As it turns out, I can't quote suspended posts, so I can only give pages and post numbers.

Page 1 Post 3 is suspended - http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/6.212779-Zero-Punctuation-Super-Mario-Galaxy-2#comment_form

Good Stuff Yatzee! Funny review as always!
No discussion value, and no probation.

Though it's harder finding decent posts that got banned, but I have seen them. I'm still looking though, no sense in making a baseless arguement.
