Apparently while walking through a crowd, unlike Altair's subtle gentle push, our character will punch people in the face without our input, what the fuck? I realise that this guy has no reason for subtlety since he's super fucking powerful and he's pissed at being kidnapped but that's no reason to be a total prick. I'll find it hard to like this guy if he punches people in the face for no reason.

I think it's up to the player what they do to people, actually. Most of the demos show him punching infected out of the way whilst parkouring across a city.
