Hmmm...It's a maybe as it's criminally overpriced but when most if not all my friends are buying it then I've gotta consider it, despite the fact that I like COD4 so much better.

Still play a lot of MW2, but I'm never going to pay for a couple of maps. That, and they're ridiculously overpriced.

Guys, take it from a 360 owner with buyer's remorse...

Waste of money.

The maps are just as camp-friendly and clusterfuck inducing as the vanilla ones, and are way overpriced.
Well, this confirmed what I was thinking.
Just a shame that you had to suffer for the rest of us.

As it stands, MW2's online knows how to push my buttons in ways that leave me furious. I would never want to douse that fire in more gasoline - and that's not even mentioning the absurd price that comes with it.
Too true. I went back to MW2 for a week recently and back came all the rage. I was crazy, it is truly the most frustrating game I've ever played.

The maps just made it worse because I felt guilty for getting them and not playing them. Still, it was nice to be back on Crash again...

...when I reinstalled COD4.

I'm still a little pissed off that I payed $60 for a beta stage game, I'm not going to give them $15 more for maps I don't like.
Tried 'em at a friends house and they all suck. I'd have enjoyed Crash a lot more but the fact that I was playing Modern Warfare 2 ruined everything. Might as well play the original...
They also glitch up multiplayer if you're trying to play with friends who didn't get the stimulus, so my friend has to delete the maps anytime he wants to play with us, and then redownload them later...

Massive waste of money, I hope people realise this soon and just stop buying them.

Before the map making community gets forced down by companies deciding it's worth stopping people making their own content so they can squeeze some more cash out of us down the line.

This.
If modding was available from day 1, we would already have several dozen maps of much higher quality that the stuff in the stimulus package.

We would definitely have a lot more maps, though I don't know about the quality part, considering the map pack ones are made by... well you know, ACTUAL designers and not Johnny Two Cents in his basement. I've always found the best maps are usually made by the devs, though it would still be awesome to see some user made stuff. (de_rats for CS 1.6 was possibly the best FPS map ever!)

Already got it, the maps are surprisingly good!

Although I feel completely ripped off with crash, love the map itself but they've done a pure port of the original, no new textures, no improvements whatsoever, and that leaves me feeling slightly pissed considering how much it cost.

NO0OOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOO, $15 for 2 new maps and 3 old ones on a game that is the embodiment of crap remake of a mediocre game.
CoD is like the Friday the 13th movies, same exact stuff in the same exact way just different enough to sucker the fans into buying it again.

How do you think these level designers get noticed? :p

Just look at the maps made recently for TF2 and I have no doubt the community can make better maps than the people with limited time to make them can, plus people who make the maps for the games listen to the community much more closely than any developer would. They'll improve the maps many times with community changes before a final release, and basically the game players get the types of maps they want, not what the developer decides they want.

The quality can only go up from when a map editor is released, and Hammer has been out a long time so obviously the TF2 maps are going to be higher quality than average map editors.
