360 to ps3 exclusives show who really is winning the console war.

This is neither about the console war, nor is it about saying things without backup.
dont want to turn this into a flame thread but this question is so about the console war as if somebody is new to the next gen gaming and can only pick one console he has to decide which one is better.

and for back up
for ps3:Full Auto 2: Battlelines,God of War II,Gran Turismo 5 Prologue,Heavenly Sword,LittleBigPlanet,Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots,MotorStorm: Pacific Rift,Resistance 2,Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

360 all the way.
Played both quite extensively and I just prefer the games available on the 360, and for all the supposed "technical superiority" of the PS3 I'm yet to se it.

Rather than asking people here I think you should look at the games available for each system and see what floats your boat. Exclusive titles don't mean shit if they simply don't interest you. Take Uncharted 2 and God of War 3; some people would sell their own children for them, whereas they don't do anything for me. I'd rather have Alan Wake.

I would say Xbox 360 if only for the Xbox live party chat.

Assuming most of your friends has an xbox360 and get on regularly.

Which reminds me, you should probably go with the one most of your friends have.

PS3.
With the 360 bricking 56% of the time, every time. something reliable for when the PC dies.

Since your interested in Last Gurdian and Uncharted 2, definately PS3. No MGS?

Should warn you fairly, if you want Uncharted 2, you're going to want to play Uncharted, and recently Firmware 3.0 made it more or less unplayable. Naughty Dog should fix the problem soon but there you go.

Either way, enjoy.

EDIT: And what kind of PS3 owner am I if I don't insist, Ratchet and Clank! Those game defined why gaming is good for me and they just get better! You can get R&C:ToD for peanuts now!

If you already have a PC then get a PS3, most of the 360 titles are avaiable for it.

And the PS3 is more reliable.

Go with the PS3. The 360 has great games, but a good chunk of their good (not on the PS3 games) come to the PC, or have a reasonable counterpart. The 360 has better online, but once again, you already have a PC for that.

My two cents however, is to get a PS2 if you don't have one already. You did hint that it would primarily be a backup console, and any current gen console is going to run you at least 500 bucks throughout its lifetime. The PS2 has a lot (lot lot) of good games and comes much lower price for the sacrifice of graphics.

You have an HD telly, go for the PS3. I'm an 360 user because until recently, the other console didn't seem to have enough interesting games for me and because if you don't have an HD TV, it's not really worth it. Now, the library's looking a lot better, so yeah, go for the black monolith.

(Personally, I'd sell the Blu-Ray player. Kinda useless when you have a PS3, no?)

((And don't listen to the people saying to play MGS4 unless you've both played the rest of the series and you really like them.))

Depends on what exclusives catch your eye the most. The PS3 is almost more reliable when it comes to not dying on you.

If you have the money I would go for the Ps3. As a 360 gamer I don't deceive myself, the Ps3 games I have seen look absolutely beautiful *prepares to be hung under the banner of a traitor*.

Edit: Though the controllers are so uncomfortable. I need my triggers to feel safe.

Instead of making yet another Elite vs Slim thread, just visit one of the others and read the posts.

I recommend the 360; I love that machine.

Any time I say anything I somehow piss off a 360 fanboy, so I'm just going to say, PS3. If you can, get one that has Backwards Compatibility. It may cost a little more, but it's worth it.

Have you heard of the Cross Battle Adapter? Use a 360 controller on a PS3 system.

Or Real Triggers? Makes the L2 and R2 buttons more comfortable. I have a set of these, and they are awesome

Well I'm getting a 360 Elite because of Castle Crashers. So many R rated games on PS3 but it ain't a problem for you I guess. T-T. 360 seems to be more of my thing. So really its what games you want. Gears2 or Resistance?

really depends on what you're looking for.
while you can get the Call of Duty games and fallout 3 on both systems, I find that they are all easier to play on the 360
ps3 has games like guns of the patriots, little big planet, and infamous, and arkham asylum is more fun to play on the ps3
so, if you're into fps go with the 360, action games go for the ps3.
luckily I have two other brothers and we all have jobs so affording both between the three of us wasn't too hard.
I suggest you do the same (even if you're getting just one system) if you have siblings that will play the system
also, if you don't want to take our word for it, you could play non-exclusive games on your friends' consoles.
for example, test assassin's creed on the 360, then test it on the ps3. that's how I found out the CoDs games and fallout 3 are better on the 360, and arkham for the ps3
Edit: if you DO get a 360, buy lost odyessy as soon as you can. it's a really fun game, but what really makes it stand out are the characters (with the exception of two whiney brats) and the main character's backstory
