While I wish I could have got my Steam version of Portal 2, the outage hasn't really affected me, as I have my brother to play split-screen co-op with me.

Most of the games I do play online are on the 360. Only thing that will annoy me is if I have to download any of my dlc again when it's back up.

I don't play online games much, since my internet sucks, and i don't buy DLC, because i hate dlc with a passion. so this really doesn't effect me lol

EDIT: oh ya, my steam version of Portal 2, but the ps3 version is damn good itself,

It's not so bad for me because I've been playing Donkey Kong Country Returns, Space Invaders Extreme 2, Okamiden and 4 different versions of Pokemon simultaneously (HeartGold, Ruby, Diamond and White) So I haven't been on my PS3 much for the past month, though that soon will change when I acquire Portal 2.

It must really suck for people who want to play MAG though.

Lack of info regarding it I guess. Wouldn't mind if we were given an ETA. It's holding me back getting the final 3 trophys on Portal 2.

I laugh at the "I paid for services I can't use" when PSN is free. but no really, since playing online on PS3 has been horrible for me it does not effect me at all. :D
I don't have a PS3 and this might be news for you but "subscription model" isn't the only way you can pay for something. Just because some people decide to pay triply for XBox Live doesn't make PSN "free". Every time you buy a game you pay for it (for an online game doubly so even, with the 10$+ going to the console manufacturer in licensing fees), every time you buy something online you pay for it (with 25%+ of the costs going to the console manufacturer). If "Online play"/PSN and/or the lack of Subscription made you get the console in the first place you've paid for it (as much as the people who paid for being able to use it as a Linux machine before they disabled that feature xD). Whenever you get a game just to play Online with a friend you're paying for it.
I like you! you make a good clear point.

Other: I have ONE THING I would like to re-download, (Long story short, Mortal Kombat's latest update made story mode freeze up, had to delete update, along with Klassic Reptile, you know the rest) and THIS is when PSN dies for unknown reasons.

Seriously, I couldn't care less, but the timing was kinda annoying. Oh well, more time for arcade ladders and local versus matches.

Use your computer for netflix
OH I NEVER THOUGH OF THAT!

Yeah my computer doesn't stream it on my HD TV where my comfy chair is, jack ass. And don't try to use the VMGI cable, that messes up the set up to my man area.
lol I just guess im used to having my computer hooked up to a 40" HDTV all the time. im typing now on my keyboard in my nice lazyboy. I guess not everyone has my awesome setup. lol

Only reason it affects me at all is I found that they sell "Spyro the Dragon" on the PSN... went to buy it Thursday morning and found it down.

ONE TIME I TRY TO USE IT IN FOUR YEARS AND IT'S DOWN!

so my massively over sized and over priced DVD player can't log in to force another totally worthless and unnecessary update down my throat?

there's a down side to this?

I wonder if something unexpectedly 'broke' as a result of connecting steam to the ps3 during a major release.

Also kind of explains how that could be considered an "External Force".

I actually wanted to buy a game this week, since someone informed me that the PS1 Spyro games are there now. At least I'm not paying for PSN.
The PlayStation Spyro games didn't just now get there, they have been on the PSN for ages; needless to say, I fucking bought them. Ripto's Rage is the best.

I don't understand the issues with Netflix. If you just keep trying to log in eventually you'll get a window of opportunity where you can pick something to watch. Once you start something you're logged in. :p

My big issue is that I want to buy Arcana Heart 3. It's an impossibility right now.

Aah, Ripto's Rage is the US name for it, so I can now assume that it's only on the US Store. And yes, Spyro 2 rocks tits.

The worst thing about it is the whining children who say that their brake has been ruined because they can't play online video games. lolwut?
It's a new generation.

My generation.

Bloody hell... heck, I live and breath games and internet, and even I could find something to do if both were cut off (though if it were permanently cut, I'd probably an hero, or start working out more).

Missed out on a gaming session on Friday and Saturday with a couple friends. Beyond that, nothing really. Kinda sucks Sony seems to slow with press releases and all over the place when they do publicly announce something.

I ain't too terribly troubled by it but it would be nice to have the option to play Blops sometime this week. But it won't really effect me unless it is down next weekend too.
