Asking that on this forum is like throwing a drumstick in a pitt of hungry dogs.

For those who argue the supposed superiority of mouse control as a selling point know that I prefer the comfort and precision of dual analogs over the jerkyness of a mouse. I also find the 360 controller more comfy than the PS3 controller.
I prefer the 360 over the PS3 controller but why not just use the 360 pad on your computer the support is there.

Mice aren't jerky using sticks to work the PS3 browser is a nightmare I have no such problems in firefox or IE

Downloadable games are also a factor, if anyone has any good recommendations.
Downloadable games I currently want for 360: Splosion' man, Braid. For PS3: Shadow complex, Trine.
Actually, as far as I know, Shadow Complex is for 360.

But if you're looking for downloadable titles to, the PS3 does have a variety.

The Last Guy is like a Pac-Man esque Snakes game.
flOwer may be short, but believe me, despite the odd premise of it (you are the WIND!) it is an amazing game.
NobyNobyBoy is basically LSD for consoles.
WipEoutHD and it's expansion pack, Fury, that literally doubles the content is a must if you like shit-you-pants-fast racers.
And Fat Princess lets you carry around fatties. Cake for EVERYONE!!!

Just some suggestions.

Well i currently have a 800 euro gaming pc and a ps3 and have never missed out on any major title. What doesn't come out on the ps3 is on the pc and vice versa.

Though i have to admitt that the 360 has a good online service but you have to pay for it.

PC all the way. There are barely any games on the PS3 I would like to play. But then again, I didn't want the Xbox 360 my sister was offering me for 2 weeks she was on a honey half-moon. Probably because I would need to use the TV in the living room, and I'm not a jerk to steal my parents' screen just to play a bit.

Hold onto your money and update your rig when the next batch of emulators come along.
There still isn't even that good PS2 emulation, I wouldn't hold my breath for the current gen of consoles to be successfully emulated anytime soon. I think the perfect combination would be a decent gaming PC and a PS3, that gives you the widest range of core-oriented games.

I'd say if you're a big PC gamer as you're implying, go for the PS3. Mainly because most games on 360 can be found on PC as well like Mass Effect or Dragon Age: Origins (I have no idea what's going on with PC releases, don't kill me!) cheaper and better. With the Ps3 you get a bit more exclusives on that platform that usually keep on the platform that you can't find on PC (MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, InFamous, ect...), of course that depends on if you're interested in those exclusives in the first place.

Just my opinion, don't shank me or anything people.
I'd have to agree. The Xbox 360 is not going to have any exclusives that don't come out for the PC sooner or later.

For the longest time I have been a "WiiC gamer" (Playing both Wii and PC) As almost every worthwhile game that is available on PS3 or 360 is also available on PC.

I recently learned that Brutal Legend will not have a PC release. This accompanied by the fact that almost every store refuses to stock PC games that are 6 months old or older (Should it really be so hard to give them money?) and the fact that my gaming PC has stopped working again has made me consider buying a 360. Should I?
I would advise you just to buy a really basic xbox 360 and then use your left over money to fund games/subscription, if you only have enough money to do one option then I suggest the xbox purely for choice and budget (there are a LOT of games in the back catalogue that you could probably buy for cheap as pre-owned games). Having said that, the PS3 is still a good value blue ray player if you're into that sort of stuff, and has some good games coming up that are exclusive, but it hasn't got the same amount of choice/budget. I still voted to fix your PC thoough...

PRICE CHECK!

Amazon.co.uk's price for a 60GB xbox360 [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-Console-Hard-Drive/dp/B001DTD0WM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250458634&sr=8-1]

Amazon.co.uk's price for a 60GB PS3 [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Console-60GB-Premium/dp/B0007SV734/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250458737&sr=8-7]

I tried to find the most similar bundles/deals I could, but there's probably better prices out there.

Fix your PC and upgrade it. I would go insane if I had to play games without modding and with a controller. I have a Wii too and it's the only console I need since it's unique. The games for the 360 and PS3, though, are just worse versions of what's on PC.

I am a PC gamer. But I also like games on other systems as well. The 360 is a fine system with some really good games. It's definitely worth a buy if you like multiplayer games and some decent FPS'

Wii's aren't shit either. Some games (SOME. VERY FEW) are good on the wii and it does have the latest in the nintendo releases, plus the PS3 has the best hardware (arguably) than any of the other systems, and if you have an HDTV (only if) it really shows.

Otherwise, I would say stick with PC gaming. I'm going through a lot of my older titles and enjoying them again on my PC, and I try to keep up with the latest hardware.

The people have spoken and I now have a 360! Instead of getting the sleep I needed since I also pulled an all nighter last night I stayed up beating a copy of Halo 3 I borrowed from my friend. Friggen' epic.

I was i sortof the same situation.

I had a gaming pc, and a wii. But i wanted something else, i prefer some types of games on PC and some on console, and whil ei still like my wii, I was missing out on a lot of good games, cause everything worth playing on 360/ps3 is either not released, or released as a crappy port on the wii.

I got myself a PS3, i chose PS3 over 360 because i have several friends with PS3s, and i don't know anyone with a 360, so i would be able to borrow games from my friends and play online with them.
This is worth taking into consideration when chosing a console.

All of my friends have 360s and none of them have PS3s.
