I sure am, loved the first game, hearing a lot of good about the coming sequal.
You can read some of the game's expected strong points in this Kotaku article(which i think they actualy took from Rock-Paper-Shotgun. http://kotaku.com/#!5798181/12-splendid-things-about-the-witcher-2

I'm planning on pre-ordering it a few days before the game's release. Still debating whether I should get it off of Steam or Good Old Games, as both have their advantages:

GoG: I support the people who made it directly.

Steam: Whatever Steam is offering, but they get a good cut of the profits.

I will not get the game if I find out the North American release is censored.

Probably not, the first game was very bad, so I doubt I'll pick this up.
If I do, it won't be until it drops in price significantly.

I watched quite a bit of the trailers and it seems that the 'combat is a little evlolved' from the last, looks very promising.

It's looking really good from what I've seen.
Plus, bonus points for being an indie developed, anti DRM, pure RPG.

Don't know what else to say, I'll probably buy it on the first few days of release if I have the money on hand.

Hell yes I am.

Its a proper stat-based RPG with a true branching story, the world is interesting, it has actual color, and its being sold with no DRM.

Thats, like, my dream game right there. Only way it could be better if it was set in space.

I just knew when I opened up this thread that one of the first posters would be one of those special haters.
God bless you.

The first game was one of the best games ever, so hell yes I'll buy the 2nd one.

I enjoyed some aspects of the first game but overall it was kind of dissapointing for me, if there's a demo I'll give it a try but if not then I'm not interested.

Definitely.

From viewing the various trailers and interviews for the past year or so, you could really tell the production values rocketed way up from the first game. The first game was using an existing Bioware engine, for Neverwinter Nights 2. They made good use of it, but it was still restrained and couldn't take off.

With their new engine for The Witcher 2, it looks great. The jungles are lush, the effects are amazing, and tons of varied models on the screen. I could go on and on about everything that looks promising or great, but I'm tired at the moment :)

I was let down big time with Dragon Age 2. I've yet to finish it, as I'm not interested. I just absolutely know the Witcher 2 will drag me in and keep me interested. It's based off an existing novel series, so even if the game sucks, at least you know the story will be going somewhere, unlike Dragon Age 2.

Thinking about getting it when it comes out on consoles, but I do not know yet. I want to play the first game before I play the second, and since the first one is on PC, well...

I am super excited, and I just started the first one. I'm at the first town you go to after the first area, and damn its awesome. Quick question, do I mainly use swords only? That seems to be the only skill available, and whats up with steel and silver?

Well, I'm certainly intrigued. I absolutely adore the company behind it (gog.com introduced me to Sacrifice: one of my top 5 favorite games.) and its anti-DRM stance just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I also really dig the dirty, low magic setting. I'm just not certain about some of the mechanical aspects of the game. Also [a href="http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/14/projekting-hands-on-with-the-witcher-2/"]Jim Rossignol's Preview Article[/a] had some concerns about the game being overly linear. I have no problem with linearity except in anything claiming to be a legit RPG.

Has anyone here played the first Witcher? Was it any good? Why or why not? Help me out. I'm really on the fence about this one.

I WOULD be excited but my piece of shit PC won't even run the first one even though it has ALL of the requirements. I mean seriously these games look fucking awesome but apparently my pc hates me and won't let me play them.
