quitting candy, you don't make any sense.
Well to be fair I only eat candy, soda or chips two or three times a month, but to quit never.

I have tried a whole month without candy, cake or anything like that. I felt so good after that month, healthy and all. I'll never do it again...

I'm a student at uni, I don't have money for sweets so I don't actually have any for most of the year. Never really had a sweet tooth, so it doesn't really bother me.

really don't like sweet things all that much to begin with, my food vices lie in the areas of pizza and various fried cheese oriented things.

Impossible, I would not be able to do that. We have something here called "Rhodesia" whicn I cannot quit, each time I eat one, my memmory flashes back to my childhood, it brings the best memmories of that time....
What is it? A candy bar, a kind of cookie... What? (I couldn't find anything about it on Wikipedia)

I've decided to stop eating candy. In fact, I'm quitting all unhealthy snacks. No chocolate bars, no cookies, no chips or cheese doodles or peanut rings.
My girlfriend is trying to quit cigarettes, so I told her yesterday I'd quit chocolate as a show of support. I don't eat any of the other snacks anyway, so I'm right with you.

Snacking is good though. Don't stop snacking, just don't snack on crap. Fruit and raw unsalted nuts are both good snack foods.

I'll try to quit junk food, but one of the issues is quitting food that just isn't good for you. Healthy food is expensive and I have no money. Like the cost of chicken here compared to beef is fucking ludicrous. Also, things like lettuce go bad really quickly so I'll have to go to the grocery store like twice a week. Not having a car makes this an amazing pain in the ass.

Well friend, I wish you luck in your endeavour.
It looks like the Escapist community is against you, though.

Hmm... I think I know an easier way.

I'm just going to eat tons of sweets. Then when I become diabetic, I'll have to stop eating them!

...that isn't funny xD

But it'll probably happen. My diet is terrible.

I don't go through candy too quickly, so when I get it, it lasts me. I could definitely do without it, but because I have it so infrequently, it doesn't really matter that I continue to consume it.

Dude, just work out more. If you want to get into shape, limiting your caloric intake is only half the equation. You also need to increase your caloric use.

As Dr house said (although I cannot remember exactly) "an alcoholic never had another drink 'cos he didn't live long enough", aka sooner or later your gunna chow down some serious sugar.

Good luck though, I tried to give up chocolate and lasted a month ... then bought the biggest bar of chocolate I could find and went to town on that bad boy.
