Real men are capable of showing more emotions than being mad and humour, crying's an expression of emotion.

Crying is a human expression. You can cry, as long as you keep to yourself.

Bottling up our emotions in order to survive in this world is just what we do.

I personally think it's okay for a man to cry, It just depends on the situation.

I can't see anything gained by suppressing emotions, so I wouldn't recommend it. Surely, when we come up with these silly little societal rules, we should base our formulation of them on evidence, rather than nonsense? What purpose does men not crying serve? Who benefits from this arrangement?

I picked the "sometimes" option, but to me that applies to both men and women. I hate dealing with crybabies, but I also hate it when my friends hold back from me, because it makes me think they don't trust me.

Not at all. I understand that at one time it was how things were, but times have changed. I can understand a lot of people struggling to express themselves or be open about their feelings, but I don't think people should be thought any less of if they show emotions.

I think in certain circumstances i.e a loved one has died or you have become a father or something along those lines then yes you can cry,otherwise don't do it in front of others.

Real men don't cry over a graze or a bump. Not even over broken bones (that's more of an 'oh, fu...' or 'screaming in agony' moment). A real man aims to cope as much as he can by himself, to carry his weight and not burden others. However, he shouldn't refuse the help of others if he needs it, whether that's physical or emotional.

I think the only men that never cry are the sortof hypermacho types. You can be strong and emotional at the same time. In fact I believe that it can often take more courage to show emotion than to bottle it up. I'm sure most of history's "real men" shed a tear when the situation was appropriate.
