only in some moments in time.

I will admit it is not good to repress things but turning into a unstable sixteen year old spilling out all of your emotions at once is frightening. no wait it is frightening when ANYONE does it.

saying it makes you a pussy is bullshit. unless you do it once a week and it is because life is "hard"

There's crying, and then there's snivelling. Real men don't snivel. To be honest if things ever get too much for me and I can't hold back the tears I always make sure no one can see me, I think this is acceptable. Crying silently and in a more controlled manner in public can also be alright for the right reasons (not if you fail your driving test, but at a funeral or something where the man understand the true importance of things).

I mostly keep myself on the up and up but sometimes sad shit happens(death, bad news, getting sacked) and I cry and I don't care what some idiots say real men do cry, just not about every little thing.

Its never really a pretty sight, I think the only exeption should be your own death you can cry. But still people always think lesser of cry babies...Unless of course they are actual babies

I'm emotionally unstable so I generally cry more than others. Doesn't make me any less of a man from my perspective. It's also refreshing getting those things out of your system instead of just holding them in.

If it is a appropriate situation there is nothing wrong with it. Death of a loved one? Of Course. Because you favorite show is canceled? Cowboy Up and get over it.

I hope never to meet the 30-something people who voted that real men have no excuse to cry, ever.

I think men should be able to cry whenever they want. All it is is a a physical (or is it chemical?) reaction that happens inside the body whenever a certain thought form is formed. However, if they cry at stupid things and aren't depressed, then that is just silly. But that also applies to women too.

No man in the world can say that they didn't cry like a ***** when they took one in the balls.

Anywho, everything has already been said, so no sense in repeating it.

Really? People here think that crying is a response to emotional or physical pain? No, do not cry, suck it up. I have never cried about anything, ever. I have come close though, when being kicked in the balls, or when Dio died, or when Anikan turned to the dark side and killed all those little jedi kids (gut wrenching stuff). I guess one has to be almost entirely emotionally dead to be unable to cry. Man up.

There's a difference between crying and sobbing. And even then, you generally shouldn't sob in public (apart from at funerals and such) unless you want to develop a certain kind of reputation. Just like you don't go around yelling and swearing in public. Show some tact, man! But standing there with a stoic expression as tears run down your face is all good. Just my opinion, though. Basically, tact. Tact is important.

That said, nothing should stop men from crying whenever they want. I haven't cried in months and yet I reckon it's a good way to vent your emotions in private.

Same goes to women. Obviously.

Anyone can cry whenever they bloody want. Crying is a way for a lot of people to grieve or vent their sadness. I cry.
I don't think that is true for anyone. If you are overdoing it, crying can be inappropriate, obnoxious, and annoying. But if it is in the right context, the person has a valid reason, or you are just having a break down there is nothing wrong with crying. I cry.

Id you're crying at a sad ending to a film. Then there's something wrong with you. Even if you're a woman it's still wrong.

If you're crying at your mothers funeral then that's normal.
What is wrong with empathy?

What... What makes a man, Mr. Lebowski?
Dude.
Huh?
I don't know, sir.
Is it... is it, being prepared to do the right thing? Whatever the price? Isn't that what makes a man?
Sure. That and a pair of testicles.
You're joking. But perhaps you're right.
Mind if I smoke a jay?
Bunny.
'Scuse me?
Bunny Lebowski... She is the light of my life. Are you surprised at my tears, sir?
Fuckin' A.
Strong men also cry... Strong men also cry.
