I prefer the little raccoon story myself, where Calvin finds a dying raccoon and has to face the reality of mortality. Men should only cry in situations of great joy (birth of a child), great sadness (loss of a parent), or in only the most immense physical pain (and no sobbing). Your "possibly" option doesn't do it for me, I want to give a very specific answer.

Everyone should cry at whatever they damn well please. This whole "real men" concept is rubbish.
I'm a man and I dont cry. I dont believe in the "real men dont cry" motif, a person can cry and they are no less a person than I.
But in a general sense there is a difference between crying and crying too much, too much crying is a problem for everyone and themselves, man, women, child, it doesnt matter.
On a completely different note, I didnt cry in Toy Story 3 or Gran Torino or even UP so maybe I dont have a soul but it doent make me less of a Homo sapien.

Although men are allowed to cry, some of them take it way too far and cry about every little thing..
But at funerals and births, such major events, its ok to cry..

i say real men dont cry but theirs no problem with not being a real man and for many many years their have been almost no real men
A 'real' man is someone who is perfecly able to take care of himself in every way. ths also means crying at the appropite times.
