Ok, I have clearly been kept out of the loop for a looong time. As a Game Designer hopeful, I need to understand what it is that makes everyone turn on EA. The more detail the better.
I can't help feeling like we're hating on a developer older than most of us, who have grown from nothing into one of the most affluent and successful gaming companies in the world.
Surely if it was not EA it would be someone else. I enjoy their games, granted they're not groundbreaking (bar Dead Space... Burnout Paradise... The Sims has become pretty popular, and Spore still sold more copies than they'd expected!), but I can't think of another developer who has made or been part of the same number of successful games released ever (naturally the figures would be relative) and can honestly say that EVERY game they have ever made is good, original, well planned and complete.
