my life > everyone else's

In my perspective, of course. Come on, (most of) you think like that too, i'm sure!

Absolutely not. Some small child I don't care about (or even one I do) is not worth risking my own life over. I'd rather be a living callous asshole than a dead hero.

So, if someone were to be at the risk of being run over would you risk your life trying to save them?
Considering all the other times i've risked my life for complete strangers. I'm going to say I'm betting I would.
I even risk my life for people than have them turn around and call me a racist/fascist/pig/scum. Yet I keep doing it. Something must be wrong with me.

If it was somebody I really cared for, I probably wouldn't even give it a second thought.

However if someone was in actual danger in real life, I have no idea what would happen. As for risking my life, I do it in a measured way, but constantly. I do "stupid" things, and more than that I actually joined the army. :/

i doubt i would run up and shield the child as the car hits me just probably yell at them so some other guy can do that

i might just ignore it, it's hard to tell something we haven't done or experienced before

Well, if I didn't I wouldn't be able to forgive myself, I would risk my life for a lot of people, especially a woman or a child.

Well it worked out for Yu Yu Haku-
While it may have worked out for Yusuke, not so much for Ethan Mars...

I probably would. I think it might be wired into some deep buried maternal part of the brain, where even if the child isn't mine the urge to protect is there.

Probably, unless the child looks like a little asshole, you know the kind. In that case the world is better off if I just stand there and watch.

I don't think I could throw myself in front of a car, but I'd gladly do it if it was against muggers or something. It'd be satisfying to pound their faces into the floor. I always thought it'd probably hurt the kid anyway if I suddenly shoved him to the ground or maybe even into oncoming traffic. Yeah...

Maybe I would risk my life... It really depends... How fast was the car going and how many people are in the area... I would hate to run into traffic to save a kid, only to realize, I wasn't the only one trying, and just end up being injured or killed for no reason other than failing to notice someone else risking their life...
