And just to be the "B-b-b-but in the book" guy, V's whole kung-fu thing was mostly from the film. In the book he's just a meticulous genius.
Okay, speed I'll grant. The inspector says the same thing after meeting him. But superhuman strength? He gets shot once and bleeds to death. I got the impression from the book that he just planned everything out that perfectly and used the computer systems to be able to predict what the government would do.oliveira8 said:No no no!L.B. In the book he did have inhuman strenght and speed! The fingermen at the begining of the comic even say so:
"How did he do it?! I never seen anybody move that fast! He killed Frank..."
Also he kills the people on the train escorting Prothero in seconds, and the two guards in the Father's home before they had time to see it coming. And the guards in the Broadcasting tower.
Also on one of the Doctors authopsies(sp?) she even says to the detective guy "So your right, it isnt a knife wound, It looks like somethings been punched trough the skin with incredible force.
Very true. He actually gets luckyL.B. Exactly. V is also a more complete and interesting character, and the general theme of the movie is both moving and inspiring.L.B. Methinks you're looking at the wrong one,oliveira8 said:From wikipedia:
"Although there is nothing physically wrong with him, Surridge theorizes that his mind had been warped by the experimentation. Still, his actions seem to maintain a twisted logic to them. The experiments actually yield some beneficial results: he develops Olympic-level reflexes, increased strength, and incredibly expanded mental capacity (as demonstrated consistently throughout the novel, V is a genius in the fields of explosives, martial arts, philosophy, literature, politics, computer hacking, music and chemistry)."(this is about V from the comic.)
He gets shot 3 times if not wrong. Also he let himself get killed. Finch even says so "But what I dont understand, my back was turned. I didnt even know he was there...and when he alerted me, pulling my gun out, I was so slow...I mean hes like greased lighting, he could have stopped me..he..he could have killed me.

"The compound caused vast cellular anomalies that eventually killed all of the subjects except V, on whom many people believe it granted enhanced strength, reflexes, endurance and pain tolerance, though there is no confirmation of this in the book; V maintains that he is just a man."

Whatever people say about him, V himself constantly denies that he is superhuman.
Yeah, someone spammed about 20 "Which is better" threads today, if thats what you mean...SmilingKitsune said:Is it just me, or have there been an un-godly ammount of versus threads today?
I go with Rorschach.
Oh what the Hell, it's a comic book after all. Not like we're arguing about how gravity works.oliveira8 said:*snip*
