No, the guard did not do the right thing. There was no reason to throw the kid down like that. Also was there no place they could've taken him, away from the public? Holding him there in the first place was a confrontation waiting to happen. Take him to the security office, or something and have his parent/guardian pick him up there.
From what I know of police business / security guard business, you must make sure the offender undestands their consequences then you can take them away, take them anywhere, primarily. The kid got what he wanted, a fight, which he lost, but its what he wanted, you don't piss off cops or security guards.

Being an asshole isn't restricted to age. If that kid treats a security guard, a symbol of authority that way, let's take it a step further and wonder how he must treat his parents, teachers and fellow students. I'd say he's pretty damn lucky in this scenario and, if he's smart, he'll take the gentle lesson that was given to him gratefully.
Or should I point out that other video where the 12 year old was bullying an older kid and the guy picked him up and threw him down on the concrete? What he got here was a gentle slap on the hand, if he doesn't pick up on that, he's liable to get punched into a wall by someone far less nice.

So a snot nosed little dick cheese got busted for something, resisted it, put up a pissy fit, got scared by a night stick being slapped to the ground, and then dragged away.
If you think this is abuse of power why not come to the USA and call one of our cops a pig. You have a 90% chance or better of that person putting you in a headlock, beating you senseless, tasing you, beating you some more, tasing you in the face, cuffing you, tasing you again, and then dragging you to rot in a cell.
Kids deserve no special treatment; while a twelve year old is not an adult they aren't children. They are not immune to their actions results and shouldn't be.
I have no tolerance for kids; just came back from my buddies comic shop and i got to witness him dealing with tow parents and their snot nosed kid as he tried to steal the warboss from his 40k display. Point is if a kid does somethign wrong they need to take responsibility for it. Not making them do so results in people like my sisters. If you get mad at someone for yelling at your child as they steal from them you do not deserve to be a parent. This kid may have just been harassing him but its still wrong.
Thats not the worst thing, I've seen kids steal things they KNEW they weren't supposed to steal, not only that, but seen them peddle.... Things. Seriously, kids should learn to not be dicks.

He's twelve, guys. TWELVE! Twelve. Years. Old. I get it, children are often annoying online and it's fun seeing the assholes who ruin your multiplayer gaming experience get a beating but that still doesn't change the fact that we're talking about a child here, not an adult.
You two keep talking about common sense and how at your age you understood bla and bla but did you really? I mean here you are, at an age when you're supposed to have "common sense", condoning violence against children and you have the audacity to claim you "understand" what common sense is? Really?
Then I have to deal with this, yet again. Listen, kids, if dicks, shouldn't be dicks, or pricks, or asses. 12 Year Olds are old enough to know the law, not fully, but basically, and how to get along, theres a difference between a 5 year old stealing something, and a 12 year old doing it, the 5 year old doesn't know any better, a 12 year old does. I don't want any of this "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" or "OH, U JUZ MAD AT 12S ON COD, LOL!" on here either, its a bloody disgrace to gaming in generally, this topic and forum itself.
A 12 year old should be respecting their elders and ones that are in a position of authority, but many just think "They should bow to MY feet, because I'm better, because I'm younger" Nothing works like that. Going back to my original argument point, difference between a 5 year old stealing something, and a 12 year old doing it.
This has NOTHING to do with games in any way, therefore your very first move in your post is automatically disqualfied as a 'cop out' so you now have no basis to stand on. Kids at 12 should have a reasoning of common sense, which means they understand what is good to do, and what is bad, on the bad list is harrasing.
