I would say yes to the series because the universe it was based in is really big, beautiful, and interesting. I think the series would have to pick up somewhere else and that a new crew/cast would have to be picked. I say this with a heavy heart because I LOVED the original Serenity crew but schmeh, onward and upward.

Firefly was the best show ever, but if it was to come back it wouldn't, couldn't be the same. Serenity 2 would be a more likely candidate for awesomeness. Especialy since the first one did leave the ending open for more adventure.

One thing though, if they can't get all the same cast (for characters still alive) then I don't want it!

I'd like for Firefly to come back, but only if I could be sure that it would remain true to form. Unfortunately, I think that part of its fame came from the fact that it ended too early. So no, as much as it breaks my heart to say it, I think we should leave it to be. Now I'm going to watch War Stories for the 50th time.

No. Leave it where it is. They've got 14 or so episodes, all of which (apart from one) are excellent, and my favourite movie of all time. Joss is happy working on Dollhouse anyway, and I think it's better to look forward to his future projects rather than pining over his past ones.
Which is the one you don't like?

Wash is dead, there is no point to bring it back. On top of that Dollhouse is just getting good.

I think this would make it feel too much like Star Trek, which it is not. One of the biggest draws to Firefly was how unique Malcolm Reynolds and his crew were. To make another one would either suck cause it would be a complete rip off and feel so, or it would be something completely different and more "meh".

River can fly Serenity. Sure it wouldn't be the same, but it's still something.

Let it die. The last thing I want is to see the series come back just to hear a bunch of fanboys talk about how it's not as good as it used to be.

Even if Serenity is made non-canon it feels like Firefly missed it's shot at a second season. If they can pull it off properly then I'd be happy as can be, but chances are rather slim. Too much time has passed.

Serenity was not the most graceful ending, they could only cram so much into a two hour movie, but it was an ending for all it's worth. I'm happy with that. If 14 episodes is all we will ever get then I'm fine with that, they may very well be the 14 best episodes of any series to air... ever. At least we get fond memories of it and a unified fanbase.

If it comes back, i'll eat a cowboy hat. Then watch it.
I really hoped it will return but has it been too long?

Yes, it has been too long. Firefly is dead, so let it be so Joss can go make more nuggets of awesomeness like Dr. Horrible.

They can't bring it back. They killed half the characters.

That's usually sort of a series ender.

They did in SERENITY, however, they could fill in the gap between Firefly and Serenity....since there is a time lapse in there......

As someone else said, if they could keep it fresh and not bad then yes they should do both.....How they would go from Serenity into a second I'm not sure but......Joss Wheedon=pretty damn close to a secondary god.

I've only seen Serenity and I genuinely liked it. I've been meaning to see Firefly, but I've never gotten around to it...

I suppose Serenity 2, not because Firefly is bad, because I can't judge it.

Much as I would like to see Firefly revived, I don't think it'd work after they made Serenity.

It just doesn't work after Wash's unfortunate end. Or Book. Or the fact that they wrapped up the whole "evil empire vs Mal & friends" bit.

So, am I the only one who thinks that a post-Serenity Firefly Season 2 could be good? I'd be really interested to see how Zoe copes, how all the different worlds react to the truth about the reavers, and more of River kicking ass.

Then again, a movie's more likely, because Nathan Fillion is wrapped up in Castle, and Adam Baldwin is on Chuck. Both shows I like and wish to continue.

Just leave it alone it won't work without wash or book!

On the subject of dollhouse does it pick up because i saw the first few episodes and it wasn't doing it for me?

It would be nice to see the series return or to see another movie, but Serenity pretty much wrapped everything up.

And besides, Fox wouldn't be able to make any room for Firefly, seeing as they need to make as much room as possible for shows that haven't been funny in years and a spin-off show from a guy who so far up his own ass about Family Guy's popularity.

There's quite a large time period between the end of the series and the film where a new series could be set.
What, like a new crew takes the ship?
