Eh, I don't care about or for it. Never had any sort of relationship where I would sext somebody. Anyways, I see nothing wrong with it in itself, but some of those pictures could potentially leaked out and you'll be made fun of and called a slut, whore, whatever. The text, if it gets you off, or helps you connect with your significant other or just a random girl while you're far apart, is fine.
There's also the legal ramifications. Sexting can be silly or annoying when you hear someone talk about it but the legal ramifications are actually what make me mad. It's fucking bullshit.
1)If a person willingly sends a picture of themselves to somebody and somebody leaks it and it gets around, I guess technically it is child porn. But noone is harmed, aside from socially. No physical harm, no reason for people to be thrown in jail, adult or minor. The picture was not taken against the person's will. No rape, no STD, the only consequences come from taking risk. It's like the bullshit laws that make gambling illegal.
2)Cyberbullying comes to mind also. If you are stupid enough to kill yourself over some text in a comment made on a social networking site, just maybe, the world is better off without you. Not trying to be harsh, but get over it. Physical bullying, fine. Retaliate, report them, whatever. But cyberbullying shouldn't even exist as a term. It's a stupid concept. Odin's Spear, go to /b/ and toughen up or something.
