Poll: shotgun or sniper which do you prefer?

which do you prefer the stealthy long range sniper or the run n gun close range shotgun?by the way i like both but im leaning more to the sniper

Really depends on the game... Cuz in every game but halo, usually a sniper. But in halo, either works... And in my favorite shooter lately: cod4, it's usually a sub machine gun silenced or an assault rifle silenced...

I like the shot gun. I've never been good at sniping in anything. Shotguns are simply more fun, I think.

I personally I like to carry both, if not then some kind of assault rife with a shot gun...

Sniper rifles are normally bolt action, and with most games you have unscope to "work the bolt" as they say. by that time, I lost track of my target. Besides, I'm more of a 'in the thick of it' type of player .

In just about everything else, I prefer the nearly ga-run-dayamn-teed accuracy of the shotgun at close range.

Definitely sniper. Something about killing someone who doesn't know I'm there appeals to me, which is also why I like stealth games.

depends on the game... CoD4 = Sniper ( Shotguns are far too situational in that game IMO), L4D = Shotgun ( now the snipers are too situational), RE5 = Shotguns ( triple barreled, one handed, long range shotgun trumps any rifle)

In my world, I am always yelling at each person who just sits and camps in the corner of the map and never actually getting off his/her lazy arse and getting down and dirty with close up combat. Quite frankly I USUALLY (not always alright?) find that snipers are only good AT sniping and can't do anything for crap in games. Also, I find out that snipers are usually (again USUALLY) are the most egotistical jerks who think they are the shiz for hiding in a corner the entire game. I also don't think games were meant to be played with your character just sitting around hoping someone will come around the corner to shoot at. Get down and dirty! That's where the real fun in shooting games come from. Also, during a zombie apocolypse whoever heard of anyone sniping zombies? Give me a shotgun any day.

odd I am generally the oposite i.e. being a sniper in normal games like cod4 but in left 4 dead I am either shotty or smg the entire time.
