I'm gonna get flamed but what the hell: The PS2 is thousands of times more worthy than the PS3.

Also buy the Jak and Daxter series! In my opinion they better than R&C.

A must buy, but not for that price. You could easily find a ps2 for half that amount if you are prepared to settle for second hand.

Yes, it is definitely worth getting. Also, get 007: Nightfire if you don't have it on another platform. It's a great multiplayer FPS. I also highly recommend the Jak and Daxter series. Timesplitters and Soul Calibur 3 are also great games.

Fuck the PS3 and its way overpriced bullshit!
PS2 was one of the best consoles, you can get loads of amazing PS1 and PS2 games for dead cheap.

A bit of an overreaction. The ps3 is expensive but worth it if you have an hdtv and/or a psp.

PS2 is still 150? That's how much it was when I got one... years ago.
But if you have a TV, you should have a ps2.

The best games for PS2 are God of War 1 and 2, all the GTA games for PS2 and a lot lot lot more I can't think of right now.
Also - hell no it's not worth it. I bought me a PS2 last year and while it's a great console with plenty of great games it's just not worth buying a PS2 when you can buy yourself a better console like the PS3 and still play the games you mentioned...

Not all PS3's play PS2 games.
Especially if he gets a brand new one

Helllooo, I'm right here... and a PS3 is out of the question. I have nowhere near the amount of money I would need to buy it.

I think you should get a PS2.
It's a great console and it has one of the best game libraries ever. Just try to find it cheaper than 150
