Hey guys, I know your not all the sporty type but I can't make up my mind so I'm gonna put it to a poll. I've been playing for 11 years and enjoy playing but I'm not gonna have much time if I do play. So should I play soccer again or not?

I said no.

No reason, I flipped a coin, showing how wise it is to ask the Internet life questions.

Exercise is always a good thing, and exercise you enjoy is even better.

Even if you can't play as much as you used to do, you should still be able to manage a little bit to maintain your fitness levels, plus a game of football and a workout will be a good way to cope with the stresses of your increased workload - you'll probably find that your academic work will benefit from keeping your body healthy and active.

Exercise is good mm'kay. You should definitely play. School work is not > Recreation. They both have their place and need to be attended to with equal importance if one is to become a valuable member of society. Otherwise you could become one of these people who gets a fantastic education but has never seen the inside of a night club or whatever and has no social skills.

Can you play it through Xbox Live? If not, then no.
I'm joking, of course.

If you must, put off football until you have more time to play. All you need is a ball. No, even a balloon covered in twine will do. All you need is the time and people to play with and against.
Football will always be there for you, barring some sudden immense cultural shift. It won't be pulled off of the market or bought out by some other sport.
That's one way that real sports beat out videogaming!

There's no need to poll for this kind of thing...that's what Magic 8-Balls and dice are for!

It depends. Would you do something valuable with the time if you didn't or would you scratch your arse, play MMO's, and eat Cheetos all day?

Night clubs are essential to social skills?
Definitely 100%. Dancing is social, not the really pissed kind that so many do, but if you're not too hammered it's a great way to meet women and it can be really good fun with your mates.

I disagree, i dont see why the hell Clubs and Party's should be seen the height of being social.
I only see Batfred say 'can' or 'something like that'. Not that it entirely 'equals' - and in that case, I agree (even though I don't enjoy disco-stuing as much any more).

I never said anything about it being the "height" of social activity, just an important part of it. As important as any other part in those formative years between 17 and 25. It loses it's importance after that a little, but even at a later age (like mine), I think that you need to be able to completely unwind and let loose once in a while.

Back OT, in the same way that's why a partially contact sport like football is so important to go hand in hand with your studies. It really let's you forget about shit even if just for 90 minutes.

Thanks for chipping in by the way - I always apprecate someone seeing what I really mean.

Not sporty? Thanks. Were not all overweight and unfit as the media would have you believe.

Definitely take up a sport. Its really good for you. But what other sports do you have available too you? Think about something different if your not sure about soccer. Like bear wrestling, the sport for real men.

You should still play, but if you are worried about not getting assignments etc. in on time then maybe limiting the amount of time you spend playing football might be a good idea. And to be honest, I don't think 4 and a half hours out of a week doing something you enjoy isn't going to throw your schedule completely off balance.

Dont just waste all those 11 years of practise, carry on playing
You hit the nail right on the head with that. Even if you limit the amount of time playing, you shouldn't stop altogether.

Just do what me and my friends at work did, go down the park once a week and play football (Sorry I'm English, I refuse to call it soccer ;-)) for fun with them. Which worked out great...and i actually got exercise! how wierd is that!

4 and a half hours is nothing in a week, easily get that in with studies.

Just pick something better than football, like surfing.
