Gradually phase it out. Illegal to start smoking, but people who are already can keep going to their hearts content. (Actually.. their heart prob isn't too content with that) Some kind of license you can register for free or something because smokers can't go cold turkey straight up.

The thing about smoking is that it, arguably, isn't REALLY the smoker's choice since they are addicted.

People aren't born addicted though. It's always a choice to start smoking. No-one's shoving smokes down your throat.

Oh right I forgot, because just because drinking doesn't harm you right away(lie), its a lot worse than smoking. Keep on drinking then and end up in the same boat with cancer as a smoker. Or keep on drinking and screw up and go drive. Like smoking over time will cause issues, so will drinking.

I think most smoking should be heavily taxed until it is universally socially unacceptable.

What makes marajuana better than cigarettes? Marajuana is in fact worse for your lungs and overall health than cigarettes are. Big gaping hole in your argument.

No, but we still need to stop rampant smoking among certain people. Even I like the prospect of being able to have a cigarette every once in a while, but it's an incredibly addictive substance/activity that's suited in some cultural norms which is creating a large burden to our society. Continue to get smoking away from being "the cool thing" and get more help (not more Nicorette products) for people that have problems with it. I have a similar view on Marijuana. People should have the choice, and it could be great for some people, but not in the way we see it today.

Only in public places, second hand smoke is far too unpleasant and infringes on others. They should have smoking clubs. They should also tax it more; if we are dealing something that is bad e might as well make some money off of it.

However, since marijuana is currently illeqal, ciqarettes should be as well. It doesn't matter what you are smokinq, just do it in private away from people who have a sense of smell.

I actually am a very heavy smoker

but i dont do it next to someone who doesnt smoke, i hate it when people smoke and then blow their smoke at my face, its just stupidly impolite, so i dont do it

i do see the issue that making illegal something so obiously stupid would make more harm than good, people are stupid but if they want to kill themselves they should be allowed

thats something that i´m kind of in the middle, i want to keep smoking, but its becomming more and more unconvenient to smoke, so i will probably quit just to be able to keep feeding my self, i dont know if its a "good" way of making things happen... but its definitelly helping to turn that "I wont smoke anymore" knob.

It should either be heavily taxed or banned inside buildings completely except in designated areas like it is in Ireland at the moment. For example pubs have peopel go otuside or a room in airports for people to smoke. I am sure other places haev a similar system.

Also, quick side-topic. What is more obnoxious. A smoker who is all in your face, or an anti-smoker who won't shut the fuck up.
