The whole single genre game would not sell, and thus the company would lose money.

Plus, if there's going to be anything "hardcore" it should all be from the 80's because modern hardcore is just a nice way of saying "faggy emo with the volume turned up a bit"

And go listen to some more Offspring before you start lumping them in with those twats from Sum-41, alright?

Honestly no, there isn't enough variety in punk guitar playing to make a good game imo. From what I've heard, it's all about plowing through with straight powerchords until the end, maybe a small simple solo in the middle.

It's more about the lyrics I feel.

Hell no, Punk is boring enough to play live on a real guitar, let alone on a plastic thing at home. Oh the repetition...

It think there's just as much chance of that as somebody making Ska Band :D Some genres just don't lend themselves as well to video game format unfortunately.

Not that Ska Band wouldn't be awesome...
This however, would be happy and awesome. If it came with plastic brass instruments, I would buy a stage in my house to play this on.
Imagine! You could even use horn mikes and use your own instruments! Awesome...

Saw both live at the same concert, and I think they are both good bands.

If I was into punk at all, I'd buy the CD/tracks of interest and minimize the risk of carpel tunnel/RSI from mashing buttons.

Too many rock band games as it is.

So, a game that has songs that are only in 4/4, with a guitar that plays only fifth chords and a bass that plays only the root note of whatever the guitar is playing. Yawn.

Just because

I like ska, but it would also be boring on GH/RB. While the bass line is usually good, the drums would be far too easy and the guitar would just consist of playing one chord on the offbeat.

What about a Jazz Hero?

Blues Band?

Classical Hero?
Now there's something interesting. Jazz and Blues would make great additions (I'm leaning more towards blues). Classical Hero would be difficult to implement, though. Very few Classical* compositions would work, unless we get new instruments (a flute, a cello/violin and that big drum they used). Plus, how many people can sing The Magical Flute or Nessun Dorma?

* I'm using Classical in the colloquial meaning, which indiscriminately lumps every period of non-contemporary music in the same pile.

Humm that would be cool but i dont think it should have its own full game they should bring out a oversized track pack, the games are already out there we should not have to put in a new disk

No! I am fed up wth this whole series. I enjoyed the novelty at first, and I still like jammin on II and III but the newer ones just bore me now.

I agree with this guy. Guitar Hero III is my favourite, and no matter what I always go back to it.

I don't think they should, they can just add that stuff to Rock Band/Guitar Hero if they really want it (I don't have anything against punk or hardcore, being a huge Dead Kennedys fan), but then again, I think this particular approach to music games has worn out its welcome, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are going to start losing pretty soon.

I only enjoy Rock Band on the PSP because it doesn't involve buying plastic instruments.
And they better make a Technical Metal Hero before that. They need to up the difficulity. And there should be no more games anyway, just DLC packs. That are free.

They have ripped you off by selling you the same songs again and again.

Sounds like a good DLC, but I love my hard earned money too much to spend it on this. Which is why I never bought any Guitar Hero or Rock Band games... Though I did have a really good time with them at my friends.

There should be neither. Introducing a saturated genre to a shitty title would just make the problem worse. Unless, either title has Stairway to Heaven included.

Well... it could be good... but punk tends to be fairly similar as far as everything goes, particularly guitar riffs, tend to be the same 2-3 bits just a liiiiiiittle bit different throughout the song and there is pretty much a generic drum piece for all punk songs.

I love punk, but I don't think it'd make a great game.

No. Billy talent and sum 41 would create an awesome rip in the universe and cause all life as we know it to end. But it would be the sickest shit ever.

Hell yeah that would be awesome! They made a country rock band so why not. I dont think it will happen though because alot of people do not see punk as a real genre, unlike myself.
