I agree, it's fun but odd with all those shock'n'awe moments. Bla bla bla, rant, bla bla bla. Plus, the multiplayer is god-awful.

Anyway, for me it's the single player all the way. I agree with a certain angry Englishman about a game having to stand up on it's single player legs and use it's multiplayer as a fancy hat. If you get my metaphor, you get a thumbs up!

If a game has both.... and GOOD online... I play single player first so that I know how to play, and so I can beat the game. Other than that single player is way more fun.... sometimes :(.

Some games are made for online, some are made for single player some games are made for co-op...... some should have never ever been made.

Don't you love it when someone else has already said what you were going to say?
Saves you the time.
No, honestly, i'm quite picky when it comes to multiplayer, so i for most games i won't touch it.

I don't really understand why people are so crazy about multiplayer, all I get are matches filled with douchebags who don't know the meaning of fun.

Yeah, the people that think competition and insulting peoples' mums is the only part about gaming. Those people ruin games.

I never buy any games for multiplayer, I always singleplay first(pad-passing huzzah!). There is only one game in the past 10 years that I seriously multiplayed.

Usually go for the single player first, except for MW2 and Bad Company, I dived straight into the MP for those two

I almost never play multiplayer unless it's splitscreen on a console.

I buy and play my games strictly for their single player.

I think the only game I've ever played and gone straight to the multiplayer is Halo 3. Immediately hopped online and played a few games, went to bed, started the story in the morning.

I liked that metaphor. I get it, but I'm not dure what its from.
I always thought that the shock and awe moments were a fun addition to the bland formula of see guy, shoot guy. The campaign is short, but who cares, most campaigns these days are. Also, the levels are interesting and varied. I much prefer fun level design over a coherent story, hence my avatar choice. I prefer single player also becuase the multiplayer just isn't any fun, its too realistic. Not to mention I suck and its ridiculous to put a level one player with level 60s. Thats why I love halo's multiplayer, it doesn't even try and be realistic, but just fun.

I much prefer single player. I play games to relax, not to have competitions with other people.

I play only sp because mp sucks. Mainly because other people who either blame for cheating if they loose or call me a noob if I don't.

I see what you're saying and agree. Level design counts for A LOT in today's gaming world. Things like Bioshock and Borderlands are close to my heart because of their artistic design. Unlike you, I can quite confidently say that I'm good at Multiplayer and I hate MW2's multiplayer because of the guns, the streaks (kill and death) and the maps are pretty much "take square 1 and copy/paste across the map".

Single player, because that's the part of the game that actually matters. Multiplayer is for after I beat the game at least once and only if the multiplayer is actually good (which is rare).

It really depends on the game for me. Recently it's been nothing but single player rpg's, but I really do enjoy multiplayer more than most single player experiences. I'm one of those dying breeds of gamer that likes to compete against other people.
