As we all know, other people liking things we don't like is pretty much the worse thing that can happen in this world. Worse than genocide, worse than toilet paper put into the holder backwards.

So, I was curious how many of you have been playing Skyrim in third person. I don't really understand why you would do that, except briefly to see what your fancy new armor looks like. But I'd like to know nonetheless.

For me, half the genius of the game is the first person view. But maybe that's just me.

Also, if you play FO3 or FNV different from Skyrim, I'd be curious to know that as well.

I played it pretty much exclusively in first person, same as the Fallout games and past TES titles. It's weird though, considering how much time people sometimes put in to the character creation only to rarely see their character except in kill-cams or VATS bizarro angles.

I play both Skyrim and Fallout in 3rd person. I only use 1st when I'm in a cramped environment like a cave or ruined building. I'm not a big fan of the 1st person, it's too impersonal and I feel like some floaty nondescript individual. Seeing the character makes all the difference to me, I can connect with the game more.

When I was still playing Skyrim, I mostly played it in the third person. Coming from my favourite action RPGs being the likes of Gothic, Risen and The Witcher, I prefer 3rd person to 1st. The same is true for shooters and pretty much all games, honestly. Not a big fan of 1st person in general.

I tend to fight in first person and explore in third person.

But having the choice of first or third is an excellent thing, and must have been a real headache for the developers to code for (having to do animations for virtually every interaction twice etc.) They should get more praise for actually giving us the choice. Well done guys.

I play in first person most of the time but walk around in third person sometimes. The camera is simply too floarty to play the entire game third person.

I play in first person pretty much all the time in skyrim and fallout. I find it really weird seeing my character in third person, plus I find the animation of the characters are strange. It is fantastic that the option is there though.

I prefer 1st person. I feel more immersed when I see the world through my character's eyes. It also makes exploration and looting easier since I don't have my own character blocking the view.

In my recent playthrough, however, I'm playing a stealthy character and I go to 3rd person sometimes to peek around corners, so I'll admit it does have its use and I'd rather have the option than not.

I use 3rd person for everything but aiming.

Playing in 1st person is just too weird for me.

yup this.

the only time i did first person was for the occasional bit of archery, which i didn't care for particularly anyways.

with how many annoying rocks/random pixels you will snag on, i hate being in first person and not being able to see what i'm tripping on.

I play mostly in first person, although I do pop in third person view every now and then to have a look at my character (very narcissistic, I know), but hey, I like looking at my creations.

When I was exploring or just traveling i tended to use mostly 3rd person, but in combat 1st person is nearly mandatory for me.

In Bethesda RPGs I usually switch between the two a lot of the time. I go into first person when using iron sights in New Vegas, but when I'm just focusing on stealth I go into 3rd person so then I can see everything. Plus also I like to see how my character looks to make sure that he/she doesn't look like a dumbass, unless that's the look I'm going for.

I played Skyrim almost exclusively in third-person during my time with the game.

The FOV in first-person felt too constricting, the attack animations seemed wonky and slightly off, and it was the first Bethesda game that actually had halfway decent character animations for the third-person mode.

I got bored of those two Fallout games pretty quickly, but because of the aforementioned terrible third-person animations, I couldn't stand playing them not in first-person view, because it was just too weird.

I'm in first person almost all the time.

I say 'almost' because of the giant 'fuck you' spiders that are in the game. Then I go into third person and go into some 'Oh God, die you abomination, why aren't you dying quickly?!' kung-fu.

That and I sneak a lot so I will some times go into third person just to see if someone is around the corner that I can't see in first person without staying hidden.

When looting and in combat first person and third for all the rest, even then I only switch from third person for combat because it's fucked otherwise.

I like to play in 3rd person. I love seeing my beautiful armour. Texture mods, man. Can't beat 'em.

3rd person Skyrim is intended for screenshots, I'm sure. Any idiot playing this way is on Easy and doesn't know better.
