Hehe I mostly play tf2 and id say about 80 - 90% of the snipers in that game arnt that good and can be taken out by a single scout. . .

so as someone who plays scouts I love crappy snipers there so point building

There should be an "I suck at sniping" option. I used to be pretty good back in my Counter-Strike days but I haven't put in much practice lately and it shows. I'm more of a rusher now.

I love sniping in Team Fortress 2 and have loved it long before I got TF2. I think my first first sniping experience was with/in Army Men: Sarge's Heroes [N64] and I've loved it ever since.

Im ok with the occasional sniper (I like to snipe sometimes) but when a whole team is snipers, it really pisses me off.

Im just getting into sniping in online gaming. I loved the sniper rifle in goldeneye 007 back in the day.

I thought i was good until it started playing online FPS lol....MW2 does give amateur snipers the chance to pull off some decent shots if ur patient

I'm fine with having a sniper either with or against me. They require skill and patience to pull off well, and provided you don't try and snipe with something other than a sniper rifle (aka being a camper), I actually have fun playing with them. Especially because I am a dedicated flanker type, so snipers don't like me!

I play the sniper like an SMG... as in I run in, and if I see someone I will quick-scope and kill them easy. (MW2) then I move on. if you can't handle, just rage quit. actually, make it a challenge. I love a fair fight.

I dislike them in most every game. In some cases, the role is entirely useful without simply being a pain in the ass for everyone else. In most games however, the sniper is nothing more than a hateful combination of a player who never contributes anything meaningful to the game as a whole and, simultaneously, is entirely annoying.

At it's best, we have the sniper in TF2 - fantastically lethal in the proper circumstances and yet readily countered. At it's worst, we have the version in Killzone 2 where they could turn invisible and were gifted with a gun that dropped a foe in a single shot at fantastic ranges. In the latter case, the invisibility thing always baffled me - they were already the only class able to deliver significant pain out beyond 80m and to ensure you have no hope of killing one unless you blunder on top of him they make him invisible too?

I sometimes snipe though I'm not very good at it online. I ALWAYS play stealthy though. I do not Ever run around like I've got bad NO2 farts. It annoys me when people run and jump their way around the map.

I am the guy you will find in a corner hidden for the whole match waiting to jump out for the perfect kill.

Can someone please explain this train of thought to me? It's as if people think quick scoping is cheap or something. It's the only thing in MW2 that requires any sort of skill at all.

I snipe about 75% of the time in Call of Duty, and I was the designated sniper for my team back when I played Halo.

believe the sniper hatred still runs deep from halo 3, because any loser could pick up a rifle, and then suddenly "they're a beast at sniping." MW2 requires more skill, but even then, the quick scope is the same thing as using any other gun except it's a one hit kill.

I think everyone hates snipers by common default because it's annoying being killed by someone you can't see from the other side of the map.

It's only when I'm being spawned in the snipers FUCKING crosshairs or very close to it is when I get pissed-the-FUCK-off angry!

It's hard playing a sniper. Mostly because of all the hacking accusations.
"There's no fucking way, you can score head shots so fast, or have such reflexes." Or something of that sort. Most fps. Damn noobs. Bah.

I shoot rifles for a living, so I have always had a fascination for people who can make a precision shot out at 600+ meters.\

Recognize the game is lag compensated, but the demo is not, so the shots seem off, but they aren't. BloodSire and Jh are possibly the two best Snipers in TF2.

It really depends on the game, the sniper, and my attitude to make me enjoy sniping. I'm more of a shotgun/pistol guy but if you like sniping moar powah to yah.

Since my ability as a sniper varies from time to time, I prefer to snipe on maps where my track record is solid. There are times I can't hit the broadside of a barn, and times where I chain together multiple head shots or save myself or team mates in long range fire situations.

Usually though I just stick to my machine guns.

You shoot like a stormtrooper in the first place! How would a more accurate weapon help you anyways?
