There is no amount of money that will get me to murder someone, just as there is no amount of money that will get me to rape or torture someone.

In fact, I'll go even further - anyone who says yes, if they're not just lying to build up some imaginary "internet tough guy" cred, is scum. Even considering killing a complete stranger for filthy lucre just proves you to be utterly contemptible, thoroughly untrustworthy, and frankly, totally deserving of being the target of this scenario.

Yes. I would then donate 3 million of it immediately to Doctors Without Borders or some other association such that I would save far, FAR more lives than the one life that I ended.

Then I'd live in relative comfort off of the interest from the remaining two million for the rest of my life. Hell yeah.

I could easily save several thousand lives with a million dollars. As opposed to one life? It's absolutely worth it. Any emotional damage from me killing the person with my own hands will be my sacrifice for the good of humanity.

I already highlighted the differences between the scenarios for you, but you can't ignore the fact that people are willing to murder for money, and take on all the risks that entails. So does it not stand to reason that a person would be even more willing to murder for vastly higher quantities of money, especially given as there is no risk of imprisonment in this scenario?

The fact that it's a last resort in a robbery aswell as being counter productive was my point. If people will murder when it's both not ideal and not necessary, then surely you must concede that they would murder when that is the ideal scenario and very much necessary. It's not safe to assume they were accidental, it's safe to assume it wasn't their original intent. (In most cases)

People kill for money, the higher the payout, the more likely someone will see it as a viable option. And 5-mil is a very persuasive amount of money for most people.

But it's NOT necessary! These people just don't need 5 million dollars, and I just don't think that most people would commit murder just for a vast IMPROVEMENT in life, especially since their lives aren't exactly bad by any stretch of the imagination to begin with. Maybe to improve your life if it sucks, but not if you're already living comfortably.

Look, I honestly don't think we're getting anywhere with this. I mean, you've been very civil and you bring up some good points, but in the end I don't think either of our arguments are provable either way, and I don't think we're going to change the other's mind on this. So....how 'bout we just call this a tie?

Really easy choice for me. Yeah I lost a connection to my fellow man when I turned 22 a couple of years ago. Kind of numb to strangers and would have no problem killing somebody I have never met. After all, strangers give you plenty of reason to want to cattle gun them in the head like Anton. Really hard to not want to spend that money on something really big. Do know that I would probably buy house in a couple of months and never work again.

He tells you that it's all your's if you do him just one favour. He wants you to kill someone. You don't know the person, you don't know anything about them and there is no chance of getting caught. Would you go for it?

i would say no, get up and walk away, then i would perhaps go on vacation for a couple of weeks.

5 million dollars is the amount of money people offer you when they're planning on double-crossing you afterwards.
