No thanks, I tend to avoid games looking like this.
Any reason why? I see people say they hate games with this art style all the time (not gameplay, let's not kid ourselves, if this looked like rage then you and those other people would be at least somewhat curious as to what it is). I just don't understand the hate...

OT: This game isn't out till next year so I guess i'll be getting a job to replace my (broken) Xbox with a PS3 so I can get this game along with some others i've missed, like Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Flower and Journey
I have no idea who these Ghibli people are, and the game just looks boring.
Your second point has no relevance to your first..

And studio Ghibli are renown for having some of the best animated movies, which has been translated into the form of a video game.
And what are said movies?

To name a couple:

Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Grave of the Fireflies
My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's Delivery Service
Porco Rosso
Pom Poko
Princess Mononoke
My Neighbors the Yamadas
Spirited Away
The Cat Returns
Howl's Moving Castle
Ponyo

All of them highly rated animated movies.

Meh, never mind then, the only one out of those I've ever heard of is the Moving Castle thing.

In the middle of everything coming out, this is a very low priority for me.

I'd get this for the art alone. It looks gorgeous. I hope the gameplay is entertaining as well, but I reckon that we'll see a demo sooner or later. I'll play that and see if it can hold my interest, but it looks very promising.

Miyazaki is an instant sell for me already.

Being a jRPG just makes it all the more so.

I already have it on pre-order with Amazon.

It is a little disappointing in a way, already. Miyazaki is usually known for strong female protagonists. That isn't all he does and shouldn't be all he does. But one gets the feeling that this one doesn't, because it's a video game.

It's still a must buy though, and one of the reasons I am happy that I own a PlayStation 3.
Not because of the Miyazaki connection, but because it's a JRPG.

Not a fan of Studio Ghibli's work.

No interest at this point. I love the films but I am very sceptical I would enjoy them in video game format.

Do yourself a favor and watch them. They are fantastic.

Haven't heard of it until this thread. Not really liking the visual style (no, that doesn't mean I like Gears of War/Call of Duty style either. I'm fickle, OK?). But I'll research it anyway. PS3 exclusives do tend to be great.

I don't know who Ghibli or Miyazaki are like a lot of people in this thread seem to. Makes me feel like I'm missing out on something.

Oh, Studio Ghibli made quite a bit more than that, I just named a couple of well-known ones.
i know its just that your list stopped at the one that came out before this one i couldn't leave it like that

I love Ghibli.
I know they can make awesome stories.
But I have no idea if they can make a good game.
I'm skeptical but hopeful.

i think Level 5 is doing most of the stuff for the game Ghibli is doing the art and maybe the story. i don't know for sure how much each is doing

If Level 5's doing the actual gameplay, I'm significantly more hopeful.
