I stand out of their way.

I don't bother them. They don't bother me.
Why would they bother you? People here seem to treat Anonymous as a defined group, whereas they're just a bunch of individuals that randomly scatter and group if their interests dictate so.
You seem to have quite a bit of experience with them. Do you know if they have like any actual structure or ANY form of organization at all?
I wouldn't call it experience, but yeah you could say i sort of know how they work. And it's difficult to explain because there's no defined structure. You can't organize anonymous because there's no criteria to use.

I guess that for a reference one could resort to a mix of "V for Vendetta" and "Fight Club"
Ok ok I see what you're saying, do they have any people that like lead them? like is there some kind of general consensus that goes around before they decide if they want to act?

Now i'm talking a bit on what i've seen and not what i've done, but Anonymous does not have any leaders. We've had a few several persistant Anons that have pretty much been anywhere, but nothing else than that.
As to their acting ways, it'd be complicated to explain since it's so widely spread. The part i'm familiar with, operations are elaborated and presented and generally succeed if they manage to catch enough positive attention between the anon.

Near as I can tell, 99% of Anons are moronic 4channers or script kiddies. They're the types of people who could drop off the face of the earth and no one would really pay that much mind. The 1% that actually have real know-how and are evidently fighting for something I can only judge by their actions, which thus far have actually been good deeds.

I like them. By them I of course mean the random grouping of people who happen to be calling themselves anonymous at any given time. A lot of people seem to think that Anon is an actual specific group of people that meet and discuss things. It's not really, it's just a name. It's true that there are frequent activists among those who are Anonymous, and those are the people who I think are doing great things. In our current society changes need to be made, and it's good to have someone stirring things up and striving for free ideals.

There's no such thing as a collective 'anonymous', there's just a bunch of people who visit their own respective boards and talk about their own respective interests. That's it.

There is no great mystery except for occasionally somebody makes a thread thinking there is some kind of supernatural internet power that is 'Anonymous'. They are the very, very, very, very, VERY small minority and are often ignored.

Well its kinda impossible to agree/disagree with absolutely everything about Anonymous - it has no organisational structure; it has no official policies or actions; pretty much anyone can call themselves Anonymous.

Thing is, there's a hell of a lot of different aspects that call themselves Anonymous that isn't 4chan - For example, whyweprotest.net is a anti-scientology website, which, naturally, is aligned with Anonymous.

Point is, one can't really 'agree' or 'disagree' with the entity as a whole.

edit: oh by the way, the notion that Anonymous solely consists of hackers is total bullshit. Many of us couldn't work our way around the complications of a computer even if we tried.

Because it is not an entity.

It is quite clear that no one in this thread knows who Anonymous really are.
Enlighten us?
They aren't elite hackers, nor do they think they are. They sit looking at funny pictures on the internet and occasionally they decide they don't like something.

They're the Chaotic Neutral of the internet. They've done both great things and horrible things, and it would be ridiculous to try and put either the praise or blame for anything they've done as a 'group' on any specific individual(s) amongst them.

That said, as a concept, I feel they're an important demonstration of the internet's power to rally people together in support of a cause. I'm also fully supportive of their Pro Wikileaks campaign, amongst other things.

Who said they are? And anyways, some of them actually are. You'd be suprised of what one can find amongst anonymous.

There's nothing secret about Anonymous. It's not a secret club. Some of them are hackers, some of them are homosexuals, some of them hates video games. It's just a blanket term for people who posts on certain websites.

There's no such thing as Anonymous. They are just people trying to "fit in" with the latest online fad. It's a meme gone bad.
