I like co-op but I always considered those who play FPS games for hours on end every day to be OCD ridden, little kids, or both. Its playing the same maps. Over and over and over and over and over and over again with very little to no variation and it just boggles me how anyone with a working brain can stay interested in them for more than a couple hours a week.

Used to be pretty SP focused, but recently Magicka has shown me the error of my ways. 4-player Magicka is like pure liquid happiness being injected directly into your spleen, especially if you have 1 or 2 incompetent people with you.

I think it depends on the game, I would never want the elders scrolls to be multiplayer but lfd is really great fun with friends :)

I generaly dont even buy games without multiplayer, with the exception of ones with outstanding quality of gameplay (like Portal, or FNV).

Playing fighting games with my friends is our #1 passtime between classes. I love multiplayer.

believe me, if people could actually make good AI I wouldn't do multi, but as it stands I'm forced to play with others just to avoid annoying glitches. I dont' care if you're really bad at a game... You're better than a PC avatar that gets stuck on walls.

As long as it isn't competitive co-op, with scoring system...

I'll play anything online, really.

I don't really have a problem with multiplayer except for the people that are experts or annoying 9-year olds.
Worse are self proclaimed experts.

I'm not going to say I like all multiplayer nor am I going to say I hate all multiplayer, some of it can be done well and can be extremely enjoyable. Like playing CoD4 with a good friend. But others can be terrible and start to make me lament my frustrations, example: Call of Duty Online. Although I do enjoy RTS multiplayer, nothing like making an army to fight your best friend's army in an epic cataclysm that scars the playing map. In the end it doesn't matter who won, it is about the enjoyment we got of having large scale wars with one another.

Kind of.

It's not bad, but I really don't understand the people that play a lot of multi-player. I hear stories of people racking up 20 hours a week on things like Call of Duty. Don't understand it. I get the variation in the people you play with, but it is just doing the same thing on the same maps over and over again.

That said, I remember playing an awful lot of Tekken in my more youthful youth. And that's basically the same bunch of characters just standing in front of each other. I guess my argument is invalid... but in my defence, I never played it online without someone I could see.

So with friends: yeah, I could play that stuff all day.
Faceless online masses: Not so much.

I hate shooters now.
The single-Player's are just SHIT. Seriously, 5 hours? And just to make space for a Mode where I play with some masterbauting 10-Year olds fightin' over who gets the Rocket Launcher?
FUCK NO!
I hate multiplayer, I miss when a Game could have a strong 15-25 Hour Single-Player and a fun Simple Multi-Player (*Cough* Duke Nukem 3d Already mastered this concept and beat it to shit*Cough*).

It depends on the game obviously, but when I buy a shooter these days I merely see it as a bonus if the campaign is any good at all. While I do grow tired of the multiplayer quickly as well, that's the primary attraction.

I have also been violently sucked into the world of Co-Operative multiplayer and MMO by some annoying friends. So yeah, I do enjoy multiplayer.

I play a lot of multiplayer games with friends. It's awesome. Multiplayer with randoms can be fine as well, depending on the game.

If you don't want to be confronted with obnoxious retards in online multiplayer, then don't play games that were designed to market to retards.

I loe the multiplayer in cod4, mw2, l4d 1 and 2, so yes, I do enjoy multiplayer. The xperience is improved greatly when you are playing with friends instead of randoms. GREATLY

I like multiplayer, though I like SP better. And split-screen co-op is always best.

I'm moving more and more away from multiplayer. I used to play it at y friends house whenever I could, but recently I haven't gone on as much. I'll play Duty every now and again, but it's getting frustrating these days with all the people exploiting the little things they an do (I'm looking at you Quick Scope). Now I know it's "part of the game" but really? and that's only duty. Even if I get a new game and start playing, I'll get into a match with people who are already experts and get my ass handed to me. I don't see the point of it anymore.

But, I do like Black Ops right now, and the ability to play with bots, then you can put them on easy after a rough day of multiplayer and go to town.

I want to like the idea of multiplayer, I certainly enjoy multiplayer with my friends but playing with strangers is the single worst gaming experience for me, at least as far as FPS games go. Worse than any Final Fantasy 13 cutscene or game breaking glitch on New Vegas. It seems to me that the majority of strangers I meet online just can't rise above using cheap tactics like camping a doorway on Blops with a shotgun like a little Derek Doorwatcher or shooting my horse on Red Dead Redemption's Free Roam while I'm minding my own business.

Also, children. I'm 24 years old, I'm far too old to be playing with kids. But games like Call of Duty are FULL of them., each and every one of them more ignorant and stupid than the last. To make things worst, I'm hassled by them even if I'm NOT playing. Me and my girlfriend were grabbing a bite to eat at a restaurant and sat behind us was a family with a couple kids who couldn't have been older than 8 talking and the kids were talking about unlocking the MPL and what their favourite shotgun was on Blops. I had to bite my lip so hard that I nearly drew blood.

Though maybe the real problem for me and multiplayer is that I'm a genuine misanthropist, I don't know.
