Lolwhut? There's a debate about whether multiplayer is cool or not?
I take it for granted, and it's a very important part of gaming for me.

I'm NOT saying, singleplayer games aren't good. - I have 250 hours of Fallout 3, Minecraft probably too
I'm just saying, singleplayer only offers a finite amount of content.
Multiplayer offers infinite hours of playtime, because humans are just a lot of fun to play with.

And if they're not, I correct their behavior, I'm admin on most games I play.

Peace. :)

How did you ever come to the conclusion that most hate multiplayer? Looking at the sales of COD multiplayer packs and WOW alone will tell you that that would be highly irrational to suggest.

I contest that the people who dislike multiplayer just haven't found the right people to play with. If you get in a good guild for a good mmo, you'll love every second of multiplayer games.

Poll says you're wrong though :p
I prefer a good singleplayer campaign every now and then, but in between those rare gems I might as well enjoy some rounds online with/against other people.
I know, I am suprised.

On here, as I said. I didn't say everyone in the world, I said:

Multiplayer is sort of a mixed thing when it comes to the Escapist Community. Most hate it with a fiery passion, others like it. So who are those who do like it?

Even that is a questionable statement at best. I've seen some negative responses, but overall I can't see any evidence supporting your statement. We ain't got a very popular TF2/Source games community group for nothing.

Anyway, I like it quite a bit, especially with friends. Games are often more fun when you can share them with someone. Not that I love an engrossing, immersive singleplayer adventure. I just want both thank you very much.

I really don't experience that much multiplayer because the chance of connecting to a server is one in a billion. And WHEN I finally connect, I dont find a lot of people to play with. And that's why I'm still in level 1 in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Well depends on the game I reckon. You're right about AC:B though, at least on the PS3. I pretty much gave up on that game. Which is a rotten shame because it's multi is absolutely stellar. A really unique multiplayer experience.

i like the option of multiplayer, but the problem is most games are dead after 3 months because they go back to call of duty or whatever, so its hard to get a game.
also most developers seem to think that multiplayer makes up for a 4 hour singleplayer, which i really hate because i mainly play for singleplayer.

Yeah, that's my problem with modern shooters. That they die off due to games like Call of Duty. MAG is honestly my favorite shooter this gen, and it's pretty close to dying off too like the rest of them :( So to answer the question, yes I like multiplayer. But I don't like it when one multiplayer game seems to be killing off the others.

I am a multiplayer maniac. I can only play through a games SP one time before I crave multiplayer. If the game has multiplayer elements, chances are that is what I will spend my time on. It provides so much more of an experience as opposed to playing alone. Though I still love RPG games like Dragon Age:Origins or Fallout.

Not while the little buggers are spending their nights mastering grenades while the rest of us are dating girls.

I know not an exact quote, but most of the spirit is intact - especially the girls part.

I usually get a game for online.

Single Player/Campaign - 40%
Multiplay online - 60%

This can vary depending on the game though.
You need to get Left 4 Dead so you can be our sacrifice.
Please and Thank you.

Aside from that, I love playing multiplayer.

Because I love playing video games with my boyfriend. :)
It's how we spend time together sometimes and I love it!

me !!

its not an a mode/function that needs to be in every game for me to buy it but yeh when its done well or adds to the experince i generally enjoy it more than the single player.
exactly this. mainly, for me, multiplayer gives a game far more replay value. as many hours of my life as i've sunk into the various Fallout games over the past 15(?) years, i shudder to think of how little i would have accomplished if there'd been multiplayer for them (multiplayer in Tactics and BoS don't count... actually BoS doesn't count period). i'll probably have to commit myself for my own protection if Fallout: Online is ever released.

Haters gonna hate, I just around only play multiplayer. My top played games are Killing Floor and Team Fortress 2, online-only games.

I love it in theory. I just hate how games are so focused on them the way they are. Personally though, I prefer co-op to competitive. I love games that offer co-op, which is why I have come to love Saints Row 2, despite initial reservations about the series.

I remember a time when most games didn't had multiplayer, and having multiplayer in a game was something that would make gamers glad that the developers added it.
Today multiplayer is getting more attention that single player in most cases.

I don't "hate or love multiplayer",that's a too general statement to do.

I generally enjoy more playing with other friends in the same room than online.
The fun of watching your friends faces when you kill them is very nice :D

I rarely like online multiplayer.
Actually the only online multiplayer games I liked where Quake Live and Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Quake got my attention because it was the fastest, most andrenaline rushing game I've ever played, while RTCW:ET was the deepest one I played and required great teamwork and tactics, and it was the first FPS multiplayer that featured an "objective" mode.

To enjoy an online multiplayer,it has to be unique and too innovative or I just don't care.
But local multiplayer games where you can just put 4 controllers in your console and/or link it with another console in the same room,is very funny and I like it very much. :)

Not I, sir. Not I.

I just don't see the point unless you're playing with people in the same room.
