I really want to get it, but I barely have time to play Skyrim, so I can't exactly justify another 60 dollar purchase.
I did defiantly pay attention to dialog but never at any point did they say exactly why I am going around trying to blow up as much as possible in mayhem for instance. Just the over all explanations and story to the game felt a lot thinner than that last.Zachary Amaranth said:Unless you pay attention to the actual dialogue, at which point you know exactly why you're doing it. Even if the reasons are stupid.aba1 said:Less cut scenes to explain the story aswell as complete removal for actives so you
don't know why you are doing the things you do
I can confirm you either weren't paying attention or are lying.aba1 said:I did defiantly pay attention to dialog but never at any point did they say exactly why I am going around trying to blow up as much as possible in mayhem for instance. my thoughts exactlyMrA said:I have it, but I just don't know. It lacks something compared to the first two. I don't know what it is, I can't put my finger on it. Maybe because Gat isn't in it, but I don't know. Some of the dialogue is freaking hilarious though and the guy who did the Standard Male American voice should get a fucking medal he is such a talented voice actor Don't get me wrong; it's a good game. Yet, it lacks the magic of the first two
2 is probably going to be the definitive title. I think I may still go back to it after playing this game. There's more crazy shit in this one, though. I mean, if you want to call down airstrikes or fly through an airplane, ninja kicking the bad guy before going out the other end, this is the game.j0frenzy said:I've been thinking of picking it up once I'm done with the semester, but I have been curious if it is significantly good to just skip the other two games and go straight to it. I haven't bought any Saints Row game and am looking for something different from my usual games that SR seems to fill. Is this game significantly better to justify the $60 or would my money be better spent getting one of the previous games (assuming I am only going to get one)?
Just out of curisoity, what problems are you talking about?babinro said:I unfairly think of my bad experiences with GTA games when considering this one. I doubt I'll ever pick it up..or at least not until it's $5 on a steam sale and I'm bored enough to try.
I'm happy with Mafia 2, inFamous and Batman as my sandbox titles of choice.
That is the one dissapointment I have with SR3. I played SR2 first, than tried SR1. Between them, SR1 was alot more GTA, basically GTA:SA's with more focus on the gangs aspect. SR2 was just plain awesome. I expected SR3 to thus be like SR2, but alas, no. But with what there is, Im enjoying it still.Hisshiss said:Which brings me to the reason I'm trading my copy in tommorow, they removed the feature to rewatch cutscenes and replay missions from your cribs, which just destroyed everything for me, since once you clear the game there isn't really anything to do but start over and make a new guy, which is a pain in the ass, since the game is ALOT more progression and upgrade centric then number 2.
All in all, if you don't mind having to make a new character after you beat the game, its still a great title to play, but alot more focussed, they shaved a bunch of the "style" content out to make room for the incredibly well built missions.
In GTA San Andreas and 4 I've never found the controls fluid or fun. It always feels off and simply destroys the experience. Driving can be fun in spurts, but quickly grows tedious in its repetition.Zachary Amaranth said:2 is probably going to be the definitive title. SR2 probably has the most replayability, and it certainly has the most options. But more doesn't automatically equate to better.
