It would be such a nice world if every country would cut military budget in favor of space/science/medical research.... eh
red tape is the reason I bet especially with congress, could not have said that better my selfMatronadena said:we spent the last 30 years in low orbit, and have become too complacent. Yes Im thankful for the mars missions, as we do know now that it is a world we can live on ( and even change if needed) and we can be there in under 10 years....so why the hell don't we have ambitious goals like that that sparked a interest in the field, and led to a boom of new sciences, more students making that shift, and actually gain some demeanor lifting insperation.
in the 60's and 70's there was a phrase that went. " If we could go to the moon, we could_____" implying that if we can get to the moon, there is NOTHING we couldn't do.
sad to see that drive die, and to see everything get wrapped up in bureaucratic red tape.

NASA has a $17.318 billion annual budget.
The US military budget is $1 trillion annually.
NASA gets 0.6% of the US's budget and have been responsible for a lot of the technological advancements outside Europe and Asia. They don't get nearly enough money IMHO.
