Here's a thread of mine that I utterly jinxed in the FIRST POST.

Holy hell. Serena=Lurtz. No wonder that thread died. I find that basically impossible to top due to pure awesome and randomness.
Yeah it was a random conversation I was having with the missus, one of those 'hey ever realise you never see Serena Williams and that Uruk Hai form LOTR in the same place at the same time?'

I got lucky with finding two pics that were so similar lol

You guys've jinxed it now. This thread is going to last as long as the internet does. When we all die, this thread will still be going. Perhaps people in the far future will base their calendars off of its inception...

It actually happens from time to time, usually when I make a reference to an old/classic movie/game that apparently are old, but not classic in the sense that the general audience knows them by heart. It's like in a conversation that ends in an uncomfortable silence. Reminds me of this:

Yes, its only happened once though, and if i remember correctly it was my first or second post on the forums. Lets just say that it disheartened me slightly.

Has anyone else posted in a thriving thread, only to find that it inexplicable dies.. ending with your post?
Not in the way that you are resurrecting an old thread. But, in a new/recent thread, perhaps popping on the front page. There are posts just seconds before yours. It has pages and pages of replies. Not Q&A threads, either, but the open-ended ones that invite a lot of comments and conversation.
It just seems to die mystically from your presence.
You don't derail the topic towards the end, or slow the pace, but ends abruptly after your post.

I don't think I usually post anything that would derail and destroy a thread. It seems random most of the time. And, it happens a lot.
I'm starting to feel like I have a hex on me, goddamn.

Anyone else cursed with Spontaneous Thread Death?
There`s only one possible conclusion to this *cue dramatic music* There`s a serial thread killer on the loose!!!

This seems like an appropriate thread to kill with the noobiest question evAR:
Ok, so I've been looking for a good long while now, and can't seem to figure out how to create a new thread-can somebody please help me out here?

I know this is a bit off topic, but this seemed like the only thread that can somehow obliquely pertain to my question.

once again, sorry in advance for likely killing a thread about killing threads.
