Campaign ends kinda abruptly at hoth though, and been reading here and there the reason for that is because the next fight the 501st are involved in is at endor and none of them survive that... Which is a rather tragic way for the 501st to go after all they been through :(
Wow. Death by teddy bears. Not exactly a swansong for such epic warriors, no. Makes it hard to take the campaign seriously knowing how they all end up, really.

I'm just sad they redid the Geonosis map. I loved the first game's version.

Also, they never did make a well balanced Hoth map. :(
Unbalanced in whose favour? I loved the Hoth map, no matter what side I was on, especially the tenseness.
You must have been on better servers than I. My experiences on the Hoth map usually went like this:

Almost no one protects the AT-ATs.
Imperial AT-ATs get blown up/tripped.
Snowspeeders accelerate to out run missiles. If the snowspeeders were accelerating, the missiles couldn't catch and a good enough pilot never needed to slow down.
Imperials get picked off out in the open.
Empire loses and this is followed up by much wailing and nashing of teeth.

Though I did enjoy the one time I repaired the shield generator back to full health and it gave the rebels (my team at the time) a new spawn location. It was really funny watching everyone get confused as to why they had to "re-destroy" the generators.

Battlefront 2 is one of my favorite games ever, not to mention one of my most played. It just doesn't get old, and feels like a truly authentic Star Wars experience.

Oddly enough, this kind of made me want to play the first game again, as I haven't played it since...well, since Battlefront 2 came out. But I still fondly remember the two Bespin levels and the Dune Sea. I'll have to see if I can track that down sometime. (Or if LucasArts would just put the thing on Steam, already!)

This is one of my favorite games ever, although it could use more maps.

Give us Battlefront 3!
