Hi People!

I got to thinking last night, who would win in a battle: The Star Wars Universe or the Star Trek Universe. Now, I watched all the movies, but I'm more of a Star Wars fan. So, overall (with ships, armies, special alliances, etc etc) who would win?

I can't wait to see what people think!

Peace!

Star Wars. Any army, any ship, any environment. Let's compare the warrior races, shall we?
Mandolorians would RAPE Klingons, no question. They have better ship and weapons, better everything. And Jedi rape Mandos, so by transitive property of rape Jedi rape Klingons.

Could you narrow it down to who in each universe? Although even if all the races/factions in the ST universe band together, the Empire/New Republic definitely have the tonnage advantage.

If we assume that SW's "lasers" are equivalent to ST's "phasers" (since both are described as not being lasers, but rather highly compressed, focused high-energy particle beams...) then really the only ships the Empire will have trouble with are the Borg's (and the Prometheus prototype). But the Borg's ability does not extend to proton torpedoes, so even a Star Destroyer can take on a Borg cube.

Probably true, but then again, any universe that spawns Jar Jar Binks and Episodes 1 to 3 can drown in the tears of my inner child. Trek wins by disqualification.

Enterprise...

Besides, he's asking for a battle, not a popularity contest...

The empire was overthrown by a bunch of teenagers and a few midgets in bear suits.

Though the entire star wars universe? Well, the Trek universe wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh dear god. Is this a news group thread from 1995? Jeez, why would you start this...

The answer to your question is, whichever one was written to win... remember they are both FICTIONAL sci-fi series'!

Depends. Could the Jedi stand against the Q?
It boils down to whether the Q are involved or not.
Omnipotence tends to sway the side of things
If they weren't.........*switches on lightsaber*.....nuff said.

Yet you felt like you had to answer and it's more like a question from the early 80s when there actually were people who chose sides :)

As for the reason I started the thread, I was actually looking for some Trekies (sp?) to chime in and give me their view. I don't know a lot about the ST universe but I figured it would be pretty even. I think SW would lose in a ship battle (damn cloaking in the ST galaxy kicks ass and I never saw a SW scanner try to pick up an "invisible" ship). Again, I am lacking the knowledge of the ST Universe but I figured with so many fricken seasons, movies and books published they would have to be able to kick SOME ass.

Yeah, the Q are part of the ST Uni and would so feel compelled to kick SW ass. :)

Nerdiest answer ever spoken:
Lightsabers deflect anything but other lightsabers and Cortosis.

What does star trek even have. I haven't watched any of the series but as far as I can see, it's only one ship and they have laser guns. Star Wars as Jedi, the force, lightsabers, rancor, a Death Star and stormtroopers.

well, star trek has a android, that looks like a human with yellow skin, super strenght, will to choose his carrer and even gets old. oh and theres a blind engineer with a 24 century glasses that allows him to see things that even the normal eye cant see

star wars just have cans with weels, and a gay coward robot, if we talk about androids.

oh and about the plots, star trek normally try to cover stuff like tolerance, acceptation and morality. And star wars is just a typical story about heroes having a space cowboy, and a futuristic asmatic nazi cyborg in the cast.

oh and holograms are really advanced in star trek compared to the star wars ones

Actually, its more a story that rips off history a fair bit. Annakin (sp?) was "born of the force" or whatever the hell happened. Irregardless, his mother didn't ride the hobby horse to conceive him. Virgin birth anyone?
And then theres the whole Jedi elimination business. Also taken from history. I'm going to assume you all know who the Knights Templar are. Well, history tells us that they were "proper minted" and held a lot of power in 14th century Europe, particularly France. So, in cahoots with the Pope, the King of France conspired to have the Knights Templar removed once and for all (cue evil cackle and mustache twiddling) So he sent letters to all his troops to be opened on Friday the thirteenth, which said "Kill dem templar doodz" Or something to that effect, at least.
So on that Friday, the French soldiers opened the letters and had themselves a Templar slaying field day. (And is the reason that Friday the 13th is now considered unlucky, it certainly was for the Templars.) Now, if you remember that point in the 3rd remake, all the clone soldiers get the order at the same time to kill all the Jedi. Somewhat similar don't you think?
As for the whole point of this topic, well, it would probably be an even fight, depending on who actually was involved and what toys they could play with.

OK 1: Read the expanded universe. Not your average hero vs villain
2: Tech in SW is also evolving (Expanded Universe)
3: Stormtroopers just suck at shooting

well, although i think i like star wars a little bit more, star trek would obliterate star wars. Sure the enterprise and the humans wouldnt do to much. But the other species in star trek are so much more expansive and so over powered that the jedi couldnt even stand up to them. For one we hae the borg, who after a few minutes of being shot with a certain laser become immune to that frequency, their ships are the same way. In addition to the borg there are also there is the 8472 species which has a ship simply name "planet killer" its like the death star only portable. It can warp around and move a decent speed while still maintaining the destructive power of the death star, and theres is 8 of them. The same species has another ship called the bioship which is impervious to all know conventional weapons in the star trek universe, and there are a few thousand of them. Theres also the Krenim temporal weapon which uses time travel to eliminate species. Also like the person a few comments above said there are the also the q. Theres many more but i think ive gotten my point across lol. and i have to get back to work...lol
