Hiya escapists.

At the time of writing, my armpits are at a point where I'd never want to interact with another person (Except for my parents, I guess) without taking a shower first. I am almost considering taking a shower for the sake of my own comfort.
I am in my current state because I knew from the morning that I would be staying inside, not meeting any friends or acquaintances all day today.
That's why I figured I'd ask: How many of you people do this; skipping the whole personal hygiene part of your life (except for brushing teeth) when you know you won't be hanging around anyone but yourself for a while?

Yeah yeah, I know I'm sort of gross. Feel free to point it out, just don't think I always go around smelling bad like this.

I dress kinda bummy (basketball shorts, t-shirt, slippers) but I usually shower and brush my teeth. Some days I go without deoderant if I'm not leaving my house.

Nope, shower as soon as I wake up. I tend to take offence when I can smell myself.

However, I will temporarily skip out on a shower if I have lab in the morning. No sense showering if I'm going to be back in my room in a couple hours smelling like ass anyway, but I'll shower immediately when I get back to my room.

I totally did that today, I am rather smelly, but that's ok, because I spent all day in my room doing work and surfing the internet.

This is my 2nd week of it in fact.
I have begun to form a hard crust on the surface of my skin, with a strange growth on my nether regions.

I didn't shower for three days this week, the thing is, I just had my wisdom teeth taken out and was unconscious for 85% of that time. I feel much better today, and the first thing I did was clean myself with great enthusiasm. I despise the feeling of being dirty, leg-hairy, or even having messy head hair.

Wait, people shower and such every day? o_O

No but seriously, I don't really care about how I look/smell/whatever at days I'm just going to be home. If I'm going to do something, like meeting up with some friends and have some fu-... Oh, who am I kidding? We'd just sit in a room and play games anyway. But yea, for days like today (I've barely left my room, and spent a total of about 30 seconds outside the house) I don't really care much about stuff like that. Though I did take a shower, for the simple reason of me loving showering. ^^

Yeah, and I often get harshly judged whenever I tell my friends. Mostly because they're trying to fit in with the status quo, which clings so hard to the idea of perfect hygiene that it's almost infuriating.

But yeah, I've been known to go a couple days straight without soap, water or even toothpaste if I know for a fact that I won't be going anywhere for a while.

Of course, if I'm doing nothing for extended periods with the company of my step-brothers, then I'll usually take a shower, for their mercy.

But there is a point where I feel the need to shower, mostly when a film of oil and dirt has coated my body and my scalp itches. Which doesn't take long, as I'm predominately Italian in heritage.

I feel terrible after a day or two of no showers or baths or whatever. All greasy. It's difficult to get comfortable.
I maintain hygiene for my own benefit, fuck other people.

Yup. I do that at least once a month. While i am a fairly social person, i do need time to myself. As such, at least 1 Saturday per month will be spent at home, by myself. On such days, i typically will not shower. I can't go more than 1 day without showering, though, as longer periods make my skin crawl.

if I'm staying at home all day then yes, there's not really a need for it.

and generally it usually only one day at a time so the smell never builds up.

I was in work yesterday, and tomorrow as well, early. Having only the one day free this weekend, I gave the world the finger and did exactly as you described today. Feels good man.

If I'm not leaving the house I can stand not showering up to three days MAX. After the third day I have to clean myself or I just feel generally shitty.

Meh, I shower whether or not I'm going somewhere. Do I feel a bit too dirty? Then I shower. I usually shower every 2-3 days. I rarely use deoderant, I don't really care about that.

Really, brushing my teeth and showering are the only things I do for my hygiene, and brushing my teeth is the only one I do daily.

I tend to remain in decent hygiene, showering and all that before going into social situations.

Don't brush as often as I should, teeth aren't in any poor shape however.

Tend to just wear comfortable clothes if I'm not leaving the house.

I'll wear more scruffy clothing or maybe skip shaving. But I still would get showered and brush my teeth because I just don't feel comfortable until I got a proper wash.

I shower every day... often more than once... regardless of whether I'm going out or staying in. And for one reason or another, I cannot not have a shower within the two to three hours before I go to bed... just feels wrong, unless I'm in a drunk stupor or completely knackered (and even then, I'll discuss to myself, at length, whether I have the alacrity/dexterity/strength to disrobe and stand for ten minutes under a stream of hot water, and the answer is 'yes', more often than not).

The only reason I opted to take a shower yesterday was so I wouldn't have to smell myself, so, yeah, I do that. XD

It doesn't help that I'm currently in that transitionary period between high school and college, so I have absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to be at this point in time. When I have no schedule to keep, things like personal hygiene and regular sleep cycles tend to take a hit.

I definitely sit around in my PJs and don't brush my hair XD If I stink really badly, then I'll shower...but yeah, I won't bother if I know I don't need to do anything or go anywhere, then I just won't bother with it. XD
