Didn't he also write Cell?
I like that one 'cause it has zombies.
Yeah he did. The last scene was awesome, as was every scene involving explosions.

I just started reading It, I'm really liking it, but I'm not far enough to say if it's my favorite. I guess I'd say the Shining, that was a really cool story. And I've stayed in that hotel.

The last actiony scene was great, but the cliffhanger end...
Just weak.

Didn't read Dark Tower, but both The Stand and It were great. The former more so.
However, most of the books I really enjoyed written by King were made as Richard Bachmann.
Especially Running Man was amazing (considering the way reality TV shows are going...).
However, don't watch the movie with Schwarzenegger, it's fucking horrible and has nothing in common with the book apart from the title and the name of the main character.

Is it just me or do most of his books end like that,
The black cloud escaping the burning hotel at the end of The Shining, The Stand ends with Randall Flag appearing on a deserted island.
Being those are the only other two books of his I've read it seems he does it quite a bit.

Boy....You missed so many books of his and put others that aren't really good.

You missed The Shning, Pet Semetary, Misery, Salem's Lot and Carrie. All probably more well known(and some much better) than Insomnia,Desperation, Eyes of the Dragon and The Talisman.

But my favourite...hmmm...to hard. Theres to many. Cause it's in the poll I'll go with The Dark Tower series, just cause of Roland "Fucking Badass" Deschain.

Dammit, I've been meaning to read his books for ages, I always get drawn on to something else...
stick with the Dark Tower and the Stand, the rest are kinda iffy on how good they are

Can't beat Pet Sematary, in my opinion. That being said, Rose Madder was my favourite from the Dark Tower series.
Rose Madder was part of the Dark Tower series ?
Yessir, it's not an official part of the series, but it's a direct relation and King speaks about any book containing characters, events, places, or other relative information as an honourary member of the series. Kind of like a second cousin.
I did not know that.
Then again, I only got up to where she runs away from home and somehow lost the book.

I have only read IT and have seen the films 'The Dreamcatcher' and 'Misery' (so only know the basic plots of the book really).

So IT has to be my favourite I suppose, although I feel it was a little long winded.

I haven't read much of his stuff but if the movie adaptations are anything to go by I actually cannot chose. There are too many brilliant stories.

Maybe it ran away too. If that's the case, you should take a similar vein of action as Norman in response because it's well worth reading =]

I find King is at his best in short stories and novellas (just think of the movies: Green Mile, Shawshank, The Mist, Stand By Me, The Running Man, many others...). But I haven't yet read the Dark Tower books so my opinion doesn't count yet.

Don't want to sound like a total douche, but I hated that book. It was essentially The Stand updated for modern times, and without any sort of thinking necessary. Take out the battle between good and evil, and replace it with a horrible, completely un-subtle story about how our cell phones will be our downfall.

OT: Everything's Eventual was a great collection of short stories. That was probably my favorite, followed closely by the "Seasons" (not sure of the real title) collection, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, and The Green Mile.

Somewhere there's a painting of Lud...
He does do small crossover material in the fine details sometimes. I believe there is mention of Bill Denborough's books from IT in more than one of his stories.
OT: IT is definitely my favorite by far, because the character development is so perfect.

I haven't read much Stephen King, but I'm definitely working on that.
I've read The Shining, Carrie, and I'm about a third way through The Stand, but the scariest thing I've ever read, bar none, was 1408. It was the first Stephen King anything I read and I swear that my balls shrunk in size it was so goddamn scary. For me at least.

Well, when you listen to it on book on tape while cleaning a +150 year-old apartment, its more intertaining.

At least it didn't take any effort. Maybe I'll go back and reread it, I might have missed something.
