I get what the basis of your post is on about, and agree with some of it. However, a lot of it is just plain old crap.

To those saying we live in great times of prosperity, happiness and such - Yes, we do. We can do many wonders, but do few. We do not live 100 years in the past, so it's not really logical to compare that. Of course things are better off in most ways than then - But as people, we are less happy - Less sheltered, I suppose.
