Poll: Swords or Guns?

I was looking at my shelf of games, and couldn't help to think that like attracts like. I have way more fantasy games than modern games, for example. This got me thinking. If all games were equal, ie: COD had swords, or Oblivion had guns for example, would it make a difference to the weapons you'd use? Are there any scenarios that alternative weapons would make more enjoyable gameplay?

Note: I'm aware that Fallout is basically Oblivion with guns, but it's hard to think of a recent fantasy game off the top of my head that didn't include guns.

I'm a gun person myself, because realistically guns are more effective than swords almost 100% of the time.

There is more honor in wielding a sword. Gun fights (and the modern day wars) gets too impersonalized.

Swords. I've always liked the more 'traditional' fantasy settings to modern settings such as those found in Call of Duty. Besides, swords are infinitely cooler-looking than guns.

I have a preference for swords... but I know that a gun would kill you dead a helluva lot more efficiently

using a sword takes skill, and strength. guns are to random and vulgar. just like what obi-wan says. guns are just lame.

Guns, if I have to kill somebody I don't want to hear or see them die if I can help it. I'm also a fan of anything the ancients would have called magic.

Realistically, guns are of course the superior weapon to have in a fight.

But swords... swords are just so damn cool! With guns, it's all about hiding behind cover and not getting shot. With swords, you get right in there! Into the fray! Hold the line!

And so forth.

Guns. At both ends of the spectrum.

A good rifle is a very effective weapon in the right hands.

While neither is desirable, I'd rather be shot than have a limb lopped off by a sword.

Guns mostly, but an easily accessible shortsword, or maybe the wristblades from predator, for close encounters when the rifle and smg is too cumbersome and the pistol runs out of ammo is always nice.

Oh, one more thing. A trained swordsman is way more deadly up close than anyone with a gun at the same distance. The only problem is getting close enough...

I like the bow if a game offers it. Alot of games downplay the bow making it an inferior weapon but still tend to go for it even then for some reason. Most fanatasy games, it is bow for me over swords. If they are downplayed really bad, I will pick up an axe next, then a sword as the sword is never downplayed. Axes occassionally are.

I do find guns boring but if I had to pick between a gun and any of the previously mentioned weapons in a game for effectiveness it would be the gun. You can't deny their superior effectiveness and versatility in combat.
