I like tattoos. I'm currently planning my second one, although I have to be careful since I'm an actor and tattoos can limit the kinds of roles that you play: I.E. No full sleeves or neck tattoos for me.
I currently have a tattoo across my wrist that reads "This too shall pass". It's classy, not terribly flashy, easy to cover up and a good message to have on hand.
I kind of have a pet peeve when people get Kanji or Chinese tattoos, especially when they can't read the language. Sure, "Live in Harmony" looks great, but so does "Ignorant White Person".
To those of you thinking about getting a tattoo, my suggestion is to decide on something that you really like and then give it 6 months to a year. If you still want it after all that time, then it's clearly something that means something to you. If you can't wait that long, maybe you're a little impulsive to have something permanent etched into your skin. Food for thought.
