And that's why so many people choose generic premade images which were around for centuries?

You know, the same heart/skull/celtic bullshit. Or, even worse, someone's name. I've known a girl who had her boyfriend's name tattood on her leg... And she has broke up with him a few years ago.

If it's something original, then sure, it's a symbol.

But when I see people sporting the same, awful, unoriginal tattoos... Urgh.
Sadly, that's fashion, I dislike it as well. If I ever get a tattoo, they will be personal. And yes, tattooing your boyfriend's name is (99.999% of the time) a dumb thing to do.

I think tattoos are the sexiest thing since sliced bread.

I'd love to get loads myself but I have no artistic talent or imagination, and I wouldn't fancy some template one.
Y'know most tattoo artists would be more than happy to draw something up for you. It gives them a chance to flex their creative muscle and you get something totally unique.

I'm getting my tattoo touched up tomorrow. Not looking forward to more healing. Damn thing itches so much D:

I personally dislike tattoos because i think they look ridiculous however each to their own. Tastefully done they can look ok for abit, but some people really do ruin their bodies.

Ha ha, good luck with that.

My best mate got my name tattooed at the top of her thigh (no joke, it says 'georgia' under a scorpion because scorpio's my star sign) and she keeps having a go at me because I won't get hers tattooed on me.

She is absolutely convinced that I once agreed to do that, but I can honestly say that I have never even CONSIDERED anything of the sort. It is very sweet though.

My friend Oskar also had 'Georgia's is a ****' (superfluous ''s' actually included) on his leg as a dare when he was in Hungary.

So two people have my name tattooed on 'em. Pretty snazz, eh...?

Although i think oskar's probably had the '****' one covered over by now.
They could be refering to the state Georgia. I mean, as states go, it's pretty cool.

I've just got back from my touch up. I don't think i'll ever get a tattoo at the same place again. It may have been high standards from hours of searching the internet in preparation, but this time around i just noticed all the stuff my artist was doing wrong... All's well though. I've got my Bepanthen and Tattoo goo all set for another few weeks of delightful healing. (didn't hurt as much as i remember either)

Oh god, what did he do wrong...?
Well, it was nothing terrible. The place is clean, he used a sterile needle from a sterile package. But he forgot to disinfect the area until after he'd been working for about ten minutes and sprayed the disinfectant directly on the tattoo (could spray blood into the air on impact, not safe). Other than that it's a great place. Maybe i'm nit-picking.

Ah, that's not so bad... I was imagining that he'd made a real mess of it, going out of the lines and stuff :)

My best mate was getting her cats' names tattooed on her back (yes, really) and when the guy put the tracing paper thing on , he had it completely wonky!

It was pretty bad, because I didn't want to piss him off and be a smartarse, but I thought, she's gonna have that on her back for the rest of the life, and if i don't say summat it's gonna look fucked. So yeah, i piped up, and it's all cool.

Although she DOES have her cats' names tattooed in massive letters across her back, so...
That depends entirely on the cats' names.
If they're mittens and troubadour, i have no sympathy.

Tattoos are pretty hot on women but only when they are proper tattoos. No shitty little things picked out of the books.

There needs to be less dolphins and fairies on the waistband.
Them, "horny devils" and anything on the lower back or shoulder blade. Full sleeves FTW!

I must say, I really really don't like tattoos. What's the point of painting your body? Can't you like it the way it is?

I love tattoos, the right tattoo on the right person/part of the body is so sexy it's retarded. But anyways, that being said, I'm definitely going to get a tattoo, I just can't make up my mind. Though it is a bit sacrilegious to get a tattoo in Hebrew (considering people of the Jewish faith aren't supposed to have any...) that's what I've decided to get, fellow Escapists with your infinite wisdom, you should help me decide which of the two ideas to go with, and then locations.

First idea is (do remember that it will be in a nicer font, I'm just doing a screen cap because you can't type Hebrew on here)

So that's what it means, how you say it, then the actual Hebrew text (as translated by my Israeli friend) Oh and I was thinking I would get that on the left interior part of the bicep or left shoulder.

Then idea #2

The top part means, "He gives", the bottom means, "He takes"...as translated from English to Hebrew on google translate (of course I will talk to a Rabi or my Israeli friend again to make sure it's right) The positioning for these one be the top half on one side and the bottom on another side so that its parallel on either side of the body. So I was thinking the shoulders for this idea.

Please leave some suggestions/ideas/comments.

I think some tattoos are cool. But you gotta really think it through; a friend of mine wants a Shield with the Green Bay Packers logo across his entire back.

That's retarded... especially if you have that for the rest of your life. Alternatively I have some friends with some really awesome tattoos that he's designed himself.

There was a picture of Peaches Geldof modelling some underwear in the paper today, and she had this lovely daisy chain tattoo up her body. Usually too many tattoos on girls look bad, but I think she looked lovely.
I wasn't perving on her... I swear.

I will most likely get a few done. No sleeves though...
As a bioshock fan maybe something similar to these:
I would get those, and maybe something on my shoulders. I like to be symetrical, so it would be complicated. I would never do my entire body or face or anything like that.

Have various tattoos. 3/4 sleeve mixed style phoenix, werewolf, back tattoos, chest and ribs.

Unless a tattoo is something that is being done because its the 'cool' thing to do or some other such nonsense, they don't bother me. Though insulting tattoos (racist, sexist, general stupidity and insult) I find distasteful.
