So after reading this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.207809-Virginity-test-helps-to-free-3-convicted-rapists] I decide to test the read dot so if your a fellow virgian then check behind your ear also if your not to see if you have the dot anyways. As for me no I don't have the dot and no I've never had sex so I thought I would try and figure this out mythbusters style get all the oddes and figures and what not.

How do you look behind your ears?

Without 2 mirrors or a camera it's a real pain in the neck to do, and I don't really fancy asking anyone to look for my 'Vietnamese Virgin spot", or lack thereof.

Also, it seems more like one of those gullibility tricks rather than a myth that needs busting.

I think a lot of people living in a tropical place like Vietnam may have spots behind their ears regardless of virginity, just because of the heat and insects.

Don't see them. But then again, don't know if I had them before that.

Edit: We are talking about the difference between that and the holographic thingys behind your ear, right? :p

This doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't masturbation have the same result? You know, since the body can't really tell the difference.

This. It's a stupid idea and I can't believe anyone would ever take it seriously.

Its just a fun kinda game not to be taken seriously, its obviously bullshit but I thought it would be fun to see the results.

Basically when a man has sex with a woman's vagina, special chemicals found within the vagina (called bullcons, named after the scientist Sir Edward Bull who discovered them) flow into the male bloodstream via the penis. As well as increasing the man's sexual pleasure, for reasons unknown, it is also known to break down spots around the head, and frequently does so with the "Vietnamese Virgin Spot" (trademark), as discovered by this crazy acupuncturist.

I am a virgin and I'm fairly certain I don't have a red dot behind my ear.

wait, thinking your skin changes when you have sex is as ludicrous as believing in the theory of evolution and also in God?

I have none, and I am not a virgin.

It's a ridiculous idea that your skin changes colour after you have had sex, anyway.

Well, if you check the original thread, this idea started a chain of events which culminated in three convicted rapists being released from prison...

Men only, as far as I can work out. The previous theory (prior to the invention of 'magic dot theory') was that you could tell whether or not a man was a virgin by taking his pulse. I suppose that must work for women too, using the inventors somewhat ludicrous definition of the word "work".

No. Neither masturbation nor gay sex have any effect on the red dot. Only heterosexual sex makes it disappear, but there is no confirmation of whether that is restricted to vaginal penetration, or whether it includes anal and oral sex with a female. Besides, these dudes had been in prison for a decade by the time she tested - it'd pretty much have to be impervious to wanking (not to mention any "relationships" they maye have formed in prison!)

Don't ID proponents claim (in an attempt to legitimze it as science, I guess) that their theory only invokes a "higher being" as a creator rather than any specific deity or creation myth? It never really works in practice, of course, since most of the major ID guys are Christians attempting to pass off Creationism by making it look more scientific, but on paper ID is supposedly non-religious. I wasn't aware IDers (at least mainstream ones) believed in evolution either; the clue is in the word "design".

I know. It's absurd in the extreme.

design refers to the universe itself, I believe

I'm going to take a wild guess without looking and say... no. I don't have a virginity spot, despite never having had sex.

I must be the messiah!

No, and I'm not a virgin. I don't know why anyone would believe that lady's story to begin with though.

Edit: Jumped the gun and didn't know this was a men only question. But the answer is still the same for me. lol

Oh man oh man, I can't wait to see that one light the place up xD

OT: Virgin and no dot, but then you'd have to be a bit of a moron to believe this and then, say, re-open a gang-rape case because of it.

No, I do not have a red dot. Also, I'm not a virgin. I also don't believe there is any merit to this story. I'm sure that skin anomolies that express themselves as red dots (like acne) can exist behind one's ear. I'm also certain that said anomoly will be found in this particular location in some portion of the population who have not (or even have) had sex. Drawing the conclusion that such a thing is related to an activity that is, for men at any rate, biologically identical to masturbation is absurd.

I have 2 moles behind my ear. Does that mean I've never been sodomized? I dearly hope so.
