EDIT: I'm very disappointed in you for the lack of Astro Boy love... come on, anime wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for good old Atom!

I chose Baccano, because the strength of having a large cast of highly cool characters beats out stuff where all the cool is concentrated into one or two characters (give or take villains who get killed off).

To address your Astro Boy choice: his historical significance is irrelevant to the fact that he is not, and never will be "cool". He has machine guns in his butt, that's just stupid. If you had put Tenma up there, that might have drawn some votes.

Every character from tha show is so impossibly exaggerated that I still can't figure out if I loved or hated for that. One thing for sure though, after 26 episodes of that thing, I was BEAT like flattened mosquito beneath an anvil.
Funny thing, to me the series really started to look interesting after episode 8... you know what I'm talking about.

You just did the impossible, and saw the invisible and just stated that you know who dieing is where it got interesting. To be fair, that's true. ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH.

I had an awful time deciding between Sakata Gintoki and anyone from Baccano! but I had to go with Gin out of loyalty to the series.

Holo is awesome, true. But as much as I hate to say it, Tuxedo Mask does win in the badass department (though Holo comes pretty damn close in Wolf form).
