Maybe its just me but it felt like (to me at least) fallout 3 was even shallower than oblivion or skyrim
I don't think you can really have a full opinion on this not having finished any of the 3D Fallout series.DoPo said:Eh, I'll have to go with TES. For now, that is. I like Fallout but I think I prefer TES games right now. I should note that I haven't played New Vegas, so I might change my mind after I do that. Fallout 3 was just a bit...meh. It felt like a post apocalyptic Oblivion - played it once and never really wanted to pick it up ever again. At least Oblivion I could try out another time. Morrowind I would and do. So, as I said, TES for me for now. We'll see how Fallout 4 goes.
Erm, I have - I've played Fallout 3 until the end. The ending was rather stupid, IMO.ItsNotRudy said:I don't think you can really have a full opinion on this not having finished any of the 3D Fallout series.DoPo said:Eh, I'll have to go with TES. Weird. I saw that guy too. I remember because even though I love the Fallout and elder scrolls games I have to admit it's true. I guess it just appeals to people like me. Except, I'd like to add that even though the content is spread out, it's not like there's nothing in the game. It just means you actually have to look to find the cool stuff which is what I like. Finding unique weapons, armor, lore, and unusual quests are more interesting when they're not all over the place. I can see why some would find that boring thoughTayh said:I saw someone describe Skyrim as "being the size of an ocean with the depth of a puddle."

Are you kidding? Even if you're not the fondest of their games, I think that having Fallout land in the lap of Bethesda was a great stroke of luck for the series. While Bethesda's stories aren't really anything to write home about, the only company that I can think of that allows for anything more mod friendly would be Valve. So, while I understand that there can be a lack of enthusiasm for they're stories, or a bunch of gripes made about how the game can be buggy at release, I do have to ask what makes you feel that almost any other publisher could treat it better, when how open Bethesda is with their works in an ever more constricting industry, makes them one of the worst options in your mind.KungFuJazzHands said:Fallout FTW. Although if I'm going to be honest, I would have preferred that Bethesda never got the rights to the Fallout IP -- almost any other publisher could have done a better job with it technically.
The way you phrased it implies you had played the game once for a session and never bothered to continue playing. Kind of like me and Mass Effect 3.DoPo said:Erm, I have - I've played Fallout 3 until the end. Yeah, when I said "once" I meant one playthough, sorry. It was OK overall, but nothing too outstanding. It was just the ending that was too stupid but not really a huge issue, to be honest.ItsNotRudy said:The way you phrased it implies you had played the game once for a session and never bothered to continue playing.
