Does anyone use the forum Search button? I tried to use it but I never found anything that I was looking for.

I use it sometimes, but it rarely works. I'm kind of surprised by this considering how well most web browser search bars work these days.

Look up 'Lord Krunk Reviews'. Hasn't failed me.

Shameless self promotion FTW!

EDIT: You sure you're using the right one?

You just have to try a few different ways of wording your topic, then you tend to find what you're looking for. So there's no excuse really, just don't be lazy.

As far as I know... the one next to My Profile/Settings, right?

Try searching for Fallout 3 and be amazed when the 41078 view, 1377 post 'Official' thread doesn't even show up.
Yeah, I have a feeling that there is an issue involving the title of the thread. And there are notable glitches, like my review of JetSet Radio Future is linked via the search feature to a commenter that never actually mentioned it.

#2 on the results under forum, the actual description is off but the link is to the right thread.

I never actually noticed that other search link, but it's no excuse since there is a working search you can use.
Still with decent wording it works ok, last on the list though.

No, and it go show that the Forum Search feature is not perfect yet.

However, it also shows that while we wait, there are alternatives.

How dare he propose the idea that our escapist forums aren't perfect!
Making a thread about how the button could be improved isn't a bad thing though.

I don't use it. But I haven't created any threads so I don't really need to. I just look at whats on the first two pages and discuss whatever!

I admit it, I rarely use the search button. But that's because I have been here long enough to know if the thread has been done before. (Sounds a bit arrogant doesn't it. I'm sorry, you still love me right?)
That combined with the fact I only make threads once in a blue moon, even when I do it's normally on obscure personal yet grievances I want other peoples opinions on.
Also, how can you make a thread and not find it I mean:

The problem you all are having is that you are searching something too specific. Or something not worded correctly. You have to try all variations of what you are searching. Thats's the problem, people always think that they can make whatever thread they want because the forum search doesn't work. Problem is, it does, and the alternative does as Lord Krunk stated.

Yes I use it. But it's a bit imprecise.

It could do with an advanced search option, to allow you to narrow down threads based on title/forum/author etc.

It should also be bigger. It should take up half the screen, be bright red, flash and have a jingle that goes "Before you post a thread you have uuuuussssseeee meeeee! YoouuuuuuUuuuseee meeeeyeeeeyeee!"
Then maybe a few more people will use it.
