I use the search function occasionally, as it really is difficult to narrow searches down and you can get a TON of false hits. It'd be nice if there were fields to, for instance, filter the hit list for specific usernames or date ranges... and a "NOT" logic (give all results for "team kill" but NOT ones with "murder" in the post) would be nice. Well, a full Boolean would be great but I don't know how voracious that'd be on coding time and resources.

I've found the search button...capable. Not that I find myself searching for much. What could a wealthy successful man like me possibly want for?

*Sigh*

I always search when I'm thinking of creating a thread to see if it's been done before. It usually throws up the right results but it does have it's moments of failure as well.

I use the search button. It is a little frustrating to use because sometimes the obvious thread that you are looking for is many pages down the list.

Since the event that I post a thread is rare at best, I don't need to search since I've been around for almost exactly a year and remember most of the types of threads and what has been done before. I sometimes use it to Necro though. But mostly to find a specific post someone made to provide a quote or citation.

To be honest I don't even go into the forums, I just go to the hot forums on the site of the video page.

Right....

Anyway, I always just wind up browsing through the last ten pages, get destracted, and forget what I was doing.

Just wondering... and no I haven't searched whether this topic has been posted before or not.

Exact same thread.

For some reason, I am only able to view the first page of search results. My company network blocks the rest of the pages for some random reason.

I don't use it but thats because my super brain knows all threads that have come and gone. Fear me.

Using Google is easier when searching for the title of a thread.

I use it when I'm checking to see if a thread has been done before. I also use it to find a forum that my friends have posted.
