Okay, so I just got done going over Yahtzee's Prototype v.s. Infamous Challenge....

Here's the link: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/op-ed/6228-Yahtzees-Prototype-vs-InFamous-Challenge

A couple of minutes later it hit me, what if Radical Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions both teamed up to create some sorta intertwined sequel for both games like Alien vs Predator or something. This sequel would combine Sucker Punches ability to create a simple storyline and basic side missions with Radicals ability to create awesome combat and well known dick potential. So what do you think, would it be a good idea for both Radical and Sucker Punch to combine their abilities in order to make a sequel for both games or would it be a waste of time?

Edit: Feel free to discuss the plot and new features if you voted yes.

Haven't played it, but it got good reviews, and everyone I know who plays it likes it. Sounds like sequel material to me.

I dont know if this is me just being slow but....eh??

Did you read the OP?

Also, it would make a pretty good game. But it won't happen.

No. Please stop with the comparisons and drawing together of these two games, please. My eyes and brain actually hurt everytime I see one of these threads.
This. Wont someone think of his eyes and brain?
Don't worry its not a comparison, its more like discussing a brand new game.

That would not only be amazing, but it would also be revolutionary. I don't think any two devs have collaborated like that. Sure you've had things like smash brothers and mario and sonic, but those weren't too much of a stretch. Nintendo has had tons of sonic games on their consoles before then. Smash bros is almost all nintendo characters. But Two completely different sandbox games featuring two completely different heroes with two different devs combined? I don't know if they could pull it off, but if they got it to work there would be so much potential. It could be Alex vs. Cole, it could be alex side by side with cole, hell it could even be alex eats cole and gets his powers but that would be worst possible scenario. All i know is that it should have multiplayer Co-op. If you think about it it would be pretty well balanced. Alex is fast and strong but he has very little range. Cole can shoot things from far away and can do crazy lightning shit but isnt very effective close up. It would work well whether they're fighting against each other or side by side.

I think it'd be a waste of time, not to mention it'd probably have to be exclusive considering Sucker Punch is owned by Sony.

No, maybe I was being slow myself. Sorry, but I'll now agree with you. It won't ever happen, though I'm not sure if it would be a good idea anyway. Companies that get together rarely do it in the way you think they will.

I'm fed up of people getting all self-righteous over the insesscent comparison of these two games.

They're both about people gaining superpowers after a cataclismic event that leaves them sealed off in a metropolitan area sealed off from the rest of the world, battling it out with other factions left inside the quarantine.
OF COURSE EVERYONE COMPARES THEM.

I think a battle between Prototypebloke and an older Cole (If you know who I mean)

The games are fundamentally different. One is a shooter/platformer while the other is a meleee beat 'em up. They have almost nothing in common unless you take the concept all the way out to "superpowers sandbox". I really don't see how the teams could mesh together to make one game that was in any way similar to both titles.

It is like combining CoD and HL2. Two good games, but so different that a tie in would suck.

Yes, but if you think about it they could do something like Call of Juarez BIB with 1 guy going in with alot of health taking people down in groups and 1 guy picking off the rest with his ranged abilities.

Your idea of having a melee monster and a ranged monster in a sandbox as a co-op experience isn't bad, but you'd have to dramatically change almost everything about inFamous to make it work. Cole would need way better movement abilities. He'd need to be faster in general, actually. He'd also need to be more durable, and do more damage....

Actually maybe they could just give Alex some ranged abilities beyond the whipfist and call it a day.

Honestly, I'm having trouble seeing how these two ideas could be combined into one product and still maintain elements of each. They're fundamentally different gametypes. We might as well suggest that Gears of War should team up with God of War to make something because they both involve blood and the GoW acronym.

Meh,i think not, didnt like either of those, and not all good things can go together, for instance bread plus ham equals awesome, honey plus mayo = shit, and you never know if the combination will work out, same philosophy can be applied to other stuff (such as the fridge and the owen, both work great but dont really go together)

What shall I do with my Froven then.

Psht, waste of £30 that was.

i think it should be like marvel ultimate alliance, but, you know, only the two guys... anyway, at the beginning you chose who you want to play as and it all eventually leads up to a final boss fight with the other character.

...but this is just an idea, a not very good idea...

nevermind.

I dunno, it'd be quite cool if Cole and Alex were put into a combined setting where slowly but surely, every city in the world is taken over by plagues, gangs and the American military and something turns up, gives a normal person super powers, and then gives them the inspiration to go mental and start killing stuff.

It'd be even more epic if it ended with a huge all-out beat-em-up over Tokyo/Paris/London between all of the superhumans that were created. The Infamous Protoype would be an awesome name for it, too :)
