I think your final squad will probably die, unfortunately Thane probably isn't a permanent squaddie because I'd be using Garrus and Thane for my final stand but I'd make sure Garrus gets away, Shepard and Thane dying isn't a big deal because one is me and the other has space cancer or some lung infection or something

I've a strong feeling that no permanent squad-mates will have an uncontrollable death and it'd be either the ME2 squad, Wrex, Joker or Anderson...any of these people dying will probably make the player react strongly...I can't see Udina dying and if he does it won't make the player feel anything other than "HOLY CRAP!"

I suspect that none of your squad have to die and that depending on choices and actions all can be saved.

As for NPC's I think Joker is the most likely to die. Something like him and EDI sacrificing themselves and the Normandy to buy Shepard time.

Also Thane will more than likely die. Not from the disease, but because he is going to die anyway he'll probably take a bullet for someone or something like that.

And Anderson and Udina will probably be killed, so that Shepard can say that "This time, it's personal"

I can't help but think that Joker's plot immunity is going to run out somewhere near the climax.

And Anderson is definitely dead. No two ways about it.

If the poll isn't up, you options are basically anyone you think will die - whether they be actual squad members (from both ME and ME2 and any other ones in ME3) or other characters (Yeoman Kelly and Anderson, for example)

The only people who are definately dead on my saves are Kaidan and Captain Kirrahe (Who I have neer figured out how to save).

With a little luck my exceptional personnel casualty rate will remain unblemished by the Reapers. After all, I'm commander Shepard and this is my favourite crew on the Citadel.

Udina will probably be killed, so that Shepard can say that "This time, it's personal"

If Udina dies I will buy the Husk that did it some new batteries and set it free to Roam and explore a deserted planet.

If a Reaper does it I'll figure out some way to compromise with that Reaper, because it's clearly not all bad.

But seriously... I think anybody who was in ME2 and on the possible dead list is going to be toast. Also, any one of the people considered a secondary character; e.g. Anderson. Probably in some hyped up "Hold the line while everyone escapes with the (pick one:important data, superweapon, picture of Tali's face, fish from the presidium)".

I wouldn't be too surprised if they killed off whoever didn't die in the first game.

If I have a say in the matter, the Virmire survivor (in this case, Ashley) is going to get it. Just because of Horizon in ME2. But why do I get the feeling that option won't come up?

I hope it isn't Tali, Garrus, or Joker.

I don't think anyone who could have potentially died in ME2 has an unshakable mark of death on 'em in ME3. I mean, why the f*ck did I bother going through the effort of saving them in the second game if they're gonna die in the third one anyway? I think anyone who has survived the Suicide Mission is safe, or at least rescuable (Save Thane because of Space cancer, or maybe Mordin found a cure, hell I don't know. Maybe if Mordin survived, Thane survives too).

I think a plot character is going to die who has a major role but was never a squad member or has been unable to die as one. Candidates are Anderson, Udina and Liara. Joker is a possibility, but I don't see what significant meaning his death would have. I don't think BioWare will kill him off.

Those were my two cents.

I'mma go with Anderson, (especially after Demo Pt 1), Ashley/Kaiden, and Paragon Shephard. All in suitably awesome (possibly tearjerker) cutscenes.

Not that I'm averse to an "everyone lives" scenario, just think that's highly unlikely.

My money is on Shepard him-/herself. It's just a gut feeling, but just the demo gave me the impression that ME3 was a bit of a sombre affair and that Shepard was starting to feel the weight of everything that has happened so far. It somehow feels "right" that Shepard could die at the end, possibly as a player choice.

Also, if they choose to do other things in the Mass Effect universe divorced from Shepard's story, what would they do with him/her? What place would the Commander have? By killing Shepard off they don't have to think about that particular issue. Just put a statue somewhere.

In a way it makes me think of Dragon Age: Origins.
