Navi (Zelda: OOT): This is by far the most annoying character in existence. Without a doubt. Mainly because she only knows four phrases. Her voice grates on the nerves of the world, as well.

The Dog (Duck Hunt): Close to Navi, but not as annoying. Partly because he doesn't actually talk.

Tails (Sonic): Fuck you. Tails is awesome.

Ashley (Resident Evil 4): Don't come! *press A to not die*||. Yeah, I never liked her. Still, not as bad.

Midna (Zelda: TP): Hey, Midna was cool. Her snarky attitude and sly chuckle outdo "HEY! LISTEN!" any day.

Slippy (Star Fox): Oh gods. He'd be a decent character if it weren't for his constantly annoying voice. However, a truly annoying Star Fox character would be Andrew Oikonny.

Waluigi (Mario games): I don't get the hate towards him. Yeah, he's a Wario ripoff, but he's not too terribly annoying.

Roman\Brucie (GTA4): Roman is definitely the more annoying of the two, as Brucie's antics come across as more humorous than obnoxious. As opposed to "HEY, COUSIN! LET'S GO BOWLING!"

Moira Brown ( Fallout 3): What? Her accent may be odd, and she may be half-crazy, but Moira is one of my favorite characters for exactly those reasons. You want an annoying Fallout character, try Butch. If I here about those damn Tunnel Snakes one more time...

Might I also suggest Rosh from Jedi Academy? He is second in wanttoshootmyselfosity only to Navi.

Aaaw, I love Moira Brown. She's just so wonderfully weird.
Slippy IS extremely annoying, but Andrew Oikonny does beat him. That's just disturbing.
Waluigi is probably the most annoying character in the Mario series EVER. I really don't get why they made him. A rival for Luigi? In what way? He's... lanky, that's about it. And that voice... I'm going to have to vote for him, actually.

Edit: Also, I don't get how one can find Navi annoying. She's just cute, and nice and all.. caring. =3 Sure, it takes forever to scroll through the info she provides that you already know of and has read through many times, but that's because of game design; that happens with other characters too. I found that fucking owl more irritating in that case. He would blabber on for-EVAH. I mean, if the sun goes up while he's doing it, one would think he'd get a clue and twist that neck off for real next time. Or something.

How would they develop a realationship this way?

All of you who said Ashley, I can't really blame you, but I can tell you're probably new to the series. (Plus you could always stick her in a corner for the best view of her nice juicy... thighs...) I nominate Resident Evil 2's very own Sherry. What, with Claire's maternal instincts suddenly kicking in, the fact that she looks and sounds like she's 8, (imagine my surprise when I read she was 12 in the manual. Then again, not much better.) and she has to fight zombie dogs instead of Las Plagas suits of armor. (Those fuckers were fast too.) Or I would pick any character from Outbreak. Or the movies. Or Jill, Barry, half of the other members of the Resident Evil cast.

Others include your idiotic testosterone-driven squadmates from *insert any FPS here*, half of the support crew in the MGS series (especially MGS2. Just *ugh*), the employers from Mercenaries, Captain Quark from the Ratchet and Clank games, T3-M4 from the first KotOR... the list goes on and on with much better candidates then the ones provided.

My hatred for her started around the infamous "Do you remember the day we met?" speech.

My naive 11 year old mind being genuinely curious about how she and Raiden had met I decided to listen and so I sat there for a while, just listening to her speak. I looked over at the clock and realized that it had been going on for well over 30 seconds, I figured "Well it can't go on for much longer"... but it kept going.

Mildly annoyed I began to smack the buttons on my friends PS2 control in an effort to find the skip button, to no avail, and while I was desperately trying to get her to shut up she kept freaking going. By the time I had managed to finally find the fast forward button and skip the rest of the conversation I had silently concluded that if there was ever the opportunity to shoot Rose, that I would do so and relish every god damned second of it.

Steve Burnside from Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ;p like, how do you miss this guy? He almost gets your ass killed several times, his voice acting is dreadful (then again, who's in the RE series DOESN'T have dreadful acting), his voice makes me want to slap him, he's a *****, his utterly contrived romance is infuriating, and dude... What the Fuck's with the clothes? I play JRPG's, okay? Some of the worst fashion trends in history are present in those games, and I tollerate it. Kuja's thong? don't really notice. Squall's stupid mini fur jacket? what are you takling about? But Steve... What the fuck happened to that guy. Everything about him is just infuriating, I could write a damn book as to why this guy is a scourge on video games. Thankfully, he was only in one game (so far), but Navi's only been in one game, and she's up here. Say what you will about all of these people, none of them refused to give you crucial keys to both his and your survival until you gave them one of your most powerful guns, and none of them have ever actually attacked the main character (I think. I haven't played some of the games mentioned in this poll).

Sorry. It's entirely a joking rant. I seriously hate Steve with a passion, though; I mean, even his name pisses me off every time I think of it. Steve; it just sounds like the name of a total dickhead.

Moving on. I really don't get how Tails should be on this list. He isn't that annoying. Hell, he's probably the most likeable character in this whol poll. Because there is no Steve, I'll have to proudly proclaim my undying hatred for the Duck Hunt Dog.
