Now, I want to get The Orange Box of Amazon.

Usually, I get thing for my PS3, I preffer the feel of the controls, and it runs games with gorgeous graffics (or at least just the games I own).

However, I am aware that Valve left the PS3 version to EA, who fucked it up. I feel inclined to get it for PC, but I'm more comfortable playing FPSs on consoles, and my PC is a heap of shit, I'd be lucky to run it on medium graffics, but I probably wont run into any problems first.

O wise and mercyful Escapist, bestow your wistom apon me!

Truth be told I say to get it for 360. If you don't have a 360, then go for PC. You'll get the updates for free. 360 is supposed to get them eventually . . . and PS3 is never getting them(most likely).

PC. Valve keeps the PC version updated constantly, and they're working on a big update for the 360. PS3 is getting nothing (Gabe Newell has publicly stated that he pretty much [http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/ps3-a-waste-of-time-says-valves-newell] hates the PS3 [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=155309]). The PS3 version also has frame rate and load time issues [http://ps3.ign.com/articles/840/840505p3.html]. If it was between 360 and PC, it'd be more even, but if it's between PS3 and PC, the right choice is pretty clear.

If you want to use a controller, borrow a friend's 360 controller (or buy one) and just plug it into the USB port. PC versions of Valve games still support controllers, you know. ;]

Go to your nearest retailer and you can get it on the console for about $20 new.
You can get it on PC for 20 bucks [http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/] too, and it's tax-free.

PC. Because Valve love us more.

Also I haven't played it on 360 or PS3.
He's right. Valve favors the PC (Case in point: TF2 Updates. 'Nuff said)

If your really more comfortable with console controls (as I am) then PS3. But bear in mind that Team Fortress 2 hasn't received one update on the consoles since it's release, and where as Valve have said the 360 will get one eventually get a big pack of everything *crosses fingers* the chances of it happening on the PS3 are less that zero judging by their feelings towards the PS3 in general.

However, i will say that the Orange Box is easily the best game deal I've ever got and if you feel like you'd be more in your comfort zone playing it on the coach with a PS3 controller then that is certainly the way to go. Even without the updates I have got way over a years play value out of TF2. Plus the Half-life 2 series is good (great once you reach episode 2) and Portal is one of the best games I've ever played. Get it either way, its such a great deal.

Read the link and he loses all his credibility by saying he likes what nintendo r doing, so he obviously likes minigame collections and baby/cat/dog/horse sims.

Back on topic I have it on PS3 and have not had any framerate issues or glitches. The loading times are long though and almost all the matches on TF2 are on 2fort. Your decision

The OB is great on the PC, and I highly suggest that you get it for that. The PS3 version of the game suffers from long load times, graphical glitches, and other performance problems. Now, I am not biased, since I love my PS3, but the PC version is the best.
Also, you get the Steam Community, along with Steam Achievements. Another thing to think about, even if it is not super high on the list, is the ability to get mods for the OB, and new maps for TF2 and Portal. Some of the community made maps are very good, and exculsive to the PC version.

Thank you all, and I have decided to get the PC version. Just one thing I need to ask, are the controls customisable?

Yes, of course. You can even script macros if you really want to get into it.

His credibility is sort've irrelevant when he's the head of the company whose support we're discussing; his opinion affects their production regardless of how right it is. Also, his comment about the Wii's install base getting larger than the 360's was totally right, and he never actually said he enjoys their childish games.

If you can run it at all, PC, PC and oh god PC.

The graphics won't matter compared to the updates, bugfixes, new maps, user content, server side admin controls etc.
As a side note, the PC player base is much nicer, probably because players that start griefing or using the old racism/sexism attacks get themselves banned straight away.

Also, yes the controls are fully customisable, you can even use a 360 controller if you want, then customise the controls on it.

well if your pc is as bad as you say it is just get the ps3 version, simpler to set up too(take it from personal experience, dont get the pc ver. unless you've got a pc that is built for gaming)

Of course they are. Customizable controls is one of the perks of PC gaming. Every good game lets you assign your own controls (to a point).

Hmm... Modding, constant updates, eventually Garry's Mod, or... uhm. Why would you want PS3 version? The only game that might choke some PCs (from Valve) is L4D, and it's not in the Box.

Even my weakass 4 year old laptop can run Portal.

My 2004 single core 2.3ghz 1024mb Ram ATI X1600 runs everything on the Orange Box perfectly.

Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead (not Orange Box) and Portal it can all run at the highest available settings at a good 40-60fps and TF2 it can do high everything but HDR for some reason.

It's good on ps3, if you don't want to play team fortress 2 that much, the servers are almost empty [ from my experience]
